Interesting timing.
I remember watching a segment with Bettis the day after a game. Took quite a while to even get out of bed and coming down the stairs was a nightmare. The toll these men take on their bodies is extreme and I wouldn't fault anyone for calling it quits early, let alone at 37 years old!
If he does retire, how do you guys feel about Leinert?
If we wins he's gone, if we lose he plays 2 more years to get his HOF ticket punched... just my opinion.
Win or lose, Kurt is coming back.
Pretty good. He looked good beating Pittsburgh last year .If he does retire, how do you guys feel about Leinert?

Not sure why it was paraphrased in the OP but here's the line from the article. Kurt relaying the information to reporters throughout the season is a bit different than Brenda commenting on it to the media a day before the Super Bowl.Brenda is enjoying her husband’s comeback and the Cardinals’ dash to the Super Bowl. Still, Kurt told reporters several times this season that Brenda was encouraging him to retire after the season because she feared for his health.
Exactly! I hope Shogun reads these reply an decides to edit the title. I was doing some serious when I read it and thought that she wants him to play for another team. The title of this post is misleading, lol.
Wanting him "gone" is much different than wanting him to retire. Gone kind of insinuates that she wants him gone to another team.
Leinart is good. We won't have nearly the passing offense, but Leinart has all the tools to be a Pro Bowl Qb and he showed that as times as a rookie. Leinart has gotten a chance to step back and watch Kurt and see what it takes to be successful in the NFL. I honestly expect him to set in and for us to not really take a major step back.
We have 41 Million or so to work with in cap space, and even with resigning/redoing contracts, the Cardinals should have a good opportunity to improve the roster. This offseason will be pivotal for the team and we will have the ability to sustain our success in my opinion.
I want to believe in Matt Leinart, but his stats haven't really impressed and when was the last time this franchise drafted a 1st round QB that actually worked out? There's a first time for everything, but I would much rather have Warner back. If Warner retires we'd have little choice.Leinart is good. I agree, although I would compare a RB to a QB when it comes to taking a pounding. Today's rules protect the QB position a lot.I remember watching a segment with Bettis the day after a game.
