So several things developed on the news front if you've been paying any attention.

*Obviously the other thread talks about Lue likely joining soon, so I won't go there.

*Kerr said that they will keep Barbosa exclusively at shooting guard.

*Brent Barry is going to the Rockets - as Suns eye Devin Brown very closely.

*Suns still need a backup power forward - unless Diaw is inserted there again. I believe Brian Skinner may be back - just my opinion.

Here is my projected depth chart for the season. I think it looks good. I'd even go as far as sticking Devin Brown as a starter. He was fantastic in Cleveland and is known to be both a shooter, a defender, and a ball handler. Consider him a shorter, quicker, younger Grant Hill.

C Shaq - Lopez - Skinner
F Amare - Diaw - Skinner
F Brown - Hill - Tucker
G Bell - Barbs - Strawberry
G Nash - Lue - Strawberry

14th Man - Goran Dragic Is In Limbo And Pending
15th Man - An Invited Summer Camp Rookie Also To Be Signed

Brown would never start over hill or diaw

Not a big fan of Brown to be honest. He was a scrub in Cleveland, not sure he will do any better here.

At least Devin Brown can shoot. And he shoots fairly well. Much better than Diaw and Hill, especially in the three point category.

Which brings me to the next issue: Suns seriously need another wing. Given that Barbosa is going to play 2-guard with Lue coming in as the point (and u still have DJ Strawberry to give minutes as well) - the only reasonable thing I see here is moving Boris Diaw back to power forward to open up two small forward slots for both a Grant Hill and a Devin Brown...........or sticking Grant Hill as the 12th man and having the two small forwards become Boris Diaw and Devin Brown. I'd take the first option.

In any case, Suns cannot settle on a Diaw-n-Hill small forward rotation. The shooting is way too weak and none can nail the three pointer.

This means teams will not defend the outside and focus on doubling Shaq-n-Amare. It will cause havoc in the paint and Shaq-n-Amare's numbers will dip.

Conclusion: It is crucial the Suns pickup a shooting wing to play small forward - either as a starter or backup and thus moving Hill as the 12th man or Diaw as a power forward again.

Dig it?

The article says that GG is likely to go to Europe. That's disappointing but it seems like the Suns were expecting it.

The article also mentions Darius Miles and why the Suns are reluctant.

IMHO, the Suns won't decide on a wing untill they see how Tucker plays in Las Vegas.

Based on stats, I can't see much from Brown. He's a career 34.1% three point shooter who shot only 30.8% this past season. (45 of 148). Hill was 31.7% this past season.

BTW, has anything been said about Michael Finley's future?

He does? where did you get this stats? mind posting it, because i am pretty sure is ppg last season is considerably lower than those 2 and you cant compare Brown to Hill or Diaw. He can never be the players those 2 are, even with an older Hill.
His only admirable skill is his defense and i don't think he does it better than Hill. So starting him instead of those 2 is a pretty stupid notion.

Everybody's playoff stats are far worse. Just dig and compare the Suns players in regular season and playoffs. Barbosa's decline makes Devin Brown look like a king.

But hey. It's okay. Go ahead and root for your small forward rotation of Hill+Diaw+Tucker. A rotation that won't stretch the opposing defense since none of these guys can shoot the ball. You're gonna have the inside become a sardine-fest with Shaq and Amare being blocked, double-teamed, and hacked since poor old Stevie and Raja don't have any shooters around them.

So sad...

Hey - you should send these wonderful pictures of failed shipments to Steve Kerr and Sarver - not me.

Or heck - perhaps you can just e-mail them to yourselves. Ur the ones who want to maintain the Hill-Diaw-Tucker combo rotation at small forward. Ur the ones who hate shooters and wings on the Suns team. Ur the ones advocating keeping the same roster that got demolished by the Spurs and don't want Suns to bring in a quality wing like Devin Brown - considering they cannot pay anyone more than minimum.

What are you even talking about? I'd be fine with a Devin Brown signing, but to say he should start ahead of Grant Hill or Boris Diaw is beyond idiotic. Last year he shot a WORSE percentage from three than both Boris and Grant. What do you mean he's a good shooter? He's not known at all for his shooting. He's not as big or versatile as Diaw, and doesn't offer the mismatches that Diaw brings to the table. He's not as good of a slasher as Grant Hill and he's not near the passer of Hill or Diaw. He also doesn't rebound as well as Diaw or Hill. So to say Brown is a better starting option than those two just shows an extreme level of ignorance.

Bell and Barbosa will combine for more than 48 minutes per game. So if Barbosa really won't be seeing any time at PG, Bell will have to spend some time at SF.

He's a good player and still has a chance to be somebody, but questions have been raised about his work ethic.

I get the feeling that looking at guys like Devin is just a smoke screen.

I suspect their main target is now Jarvis Hayes. I'm not wildly enthusiastic about that, but I can't see the Suns getting a wing who isn't a strong three point shooter.

In my opinion, I still believe one of either Diaw or Barbosa will be traded before camp opens. I think they will get their wing thru this trade and use a minimum contract on a Brian Skinner or Malik Allen.

I believe your prediction of this is almost as idiotic as your prediction that Devin Brown will start. Devin Brown sucks, have you ever actually seen him play?

Yeah so do some other people in here. What's your point? I don't get it. Please explain...

Thinking Suns may trade Diaw or Barbosa for another wing player is idiotic? Can you explain why it is idiotic please? I'd like to know why because you didn't say. Please do explain.....

MAN. HERE WE GO AGAIN. PEOPLE ON MY A-- FOR NO REASON. WANNA START. LET'S GO. BRING IT ON. ARGUING FOR THE SAKE OF ARGUMENT IS STUPID. AT LEAST MAKE SOME SENSE AND PROVIDE SOME REASON AS TO WHY YOU ARGUE.

No one who's watched more than 3 basketball games in their life thinks Brian Skinner is a better overall player than Kurt Thomas. Skinner is a better shot blocker than KT, and thats about it. I like Skinner as a player and I'd love to have him back since the Suns are thin up front. But to say he's better than KT, who's on of the premiere post defenders in the league and a terrific midrange shooter, is just ludicrous.
