"Today, the storybook career of future hall of fame quarterback Kurt Leinart came to an end. From his humble beginnings as grocery store clerk, to his 2 MVP's and 3 Super Bowl's with the downtrodden St. Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals, Kurt Leinart has made his mark on the NFL.

Waiting in the wings for the now Kurt Leinartless Cardinals, is former Heisman trophy winner Matt Warner. The silver lining in all of this, is that with the retirement of Kurt Leinart, the Cardinals now have extra money available to give contract extensions to defensive stalwarts Karlos Dansberry and Antron Rolle."

Billick also said Kenny Wheeeezenhunt has the utmost confidence in Matt Warner.

Billick, like Ron Burgundy, will read anything that's on the teleprompter.

I also heard that Chris Mortenson reported that part of Kurt's decision to retire was due to the fact that the Cardinals were unwilling to renegotiate his bad rookie contract that he signed back in 1994. This situation was eerily similar to Mortenson's report in November that the Cardinals were unwilling to renegotiate Darnell Dockett's bad rookie contract.

As we all know, whatever Chris Mortenson reports is 100% accurate. Those stingy Bidwill's simply are unwilling to give contract extensions to anyone.
