Cardinals can take the next step with Burns in pass rushing. Gives them a young talented pass rusher. We all know they will be picking outside of top 5 and unlikely to get a premium pass rusher. Also, you know about Keim's drafting defensive guys in first round.

I'm sure the new Panthers coach Steve Wilkes is just itching to send his pass rusher to the Cardinals
Good Call. But again if Cardinals have the best offer and also we can throw in superstar speedy WR Moore then who can say no?

I can't wait to see how the Panthers do with him as coach. I don't know if he would would have much say in a trade. I would make this trade in a heartbeat with Keim's history of first round draft picks.

hows this for a Keim move:

do you trade for Christian McCaffery?

low salary this year of $1mm or so -- but then three more years at $11.8mm per? You could cut him without a cap hit.

My gut says either the rams or 49ers wind up getting him if he's traded

Sounds just like Keim when he has a hiccup, trading for a high salary often injured player :raccoon:

i will play devil's advocate:

McCaffery's salary is ~$1mm this year. CHEAP

his contract for 2023, 2024 and 2025 is $11.8mm per in salary.

This could be a rental for the remainder of the year and you could cut him in the offseason with 0 cap ramifications

Absolutely not. If the Cards wanted to do away with Kyler, they should have traded him during the offseason. We are stuck with him, good or bad.

The Panthers get rid of their coach?

OK, I just read where they did just fire him. Makes one think a little.

In the 2020 draft, Keim were planning on taking the defender, that the Panthers did not take one spot ahead of them – Isaiah Simmons or Derrick Brown. Maybe he is still interested in Brown.

And yes, of course I would trade a first for Burns any day of the week.

Burns would cost an affordable $16mm in 2023 in his 5th year option year -- but:

Panthers or any team trading for him probably wants to sign him to a new deal this coming offseason
