I am wondering if I should "resurrect" "Album-a-Day" or not?

It did seem successful during its "brief run" and I believe it will be interesting for people to continue to introducing also to bands that may be "unfamiliar" to us or just to discuss/debate some of the most popular albums.....

If this post generate enough "yes" votes, then please let me know if you're be interested in participating in it yourself so I could structure an updated schedule...

I think it's about time to re-explore "Album-A-Day"... what's everyone's input/feedback on that?

It seems that several are posting on here again on a more regular basis and have been contributing impressively by expressing their tastes/opinions in an effective manner....I just enjoy the concept of people discussing albums that many arent aware of, but also to discuss/debate ones that mostly everyone already likes....

Yeah! Do you take suggestions??

The concept pretty much is for someone to dedicate a week (can do between 4-7 albums) and select albums of their own choosing.....I re-stickied the thread above that contained the list of albums that have already been done (it's been completely updated as of the last one I did so we could avoid any repeats) and it's an interesting way for people to recommend a singer/band that in some instances no one has heard of before.... Or people sometimes opted to do more popular ones because they tend to occasionally rekindle some memories and people also realize they may share the same taste....

I particularly enjoy the diverse music interests that has been prominent on this forum...I of course naturally enjoy everything except what is deemed as "New Country" those Boy Bands, or those who lack talent like Britney Spears (not saying there is anything wrong in someone enjoying those since everyone is entitled to their own taste/opinion).... If anyone loves those genres that I personally detest, then by all means please feel free to do an album-a-day regarding them... Perhaps I might overlook my strong displeasure towards them..cast them aside and be willing to check them out.... hey.. I might even discover something positive about them....

I could see those avid listeners of Punk post rare bands that most (including myself) arent aware of.... The same with those who are heavily into metal/prog-metal...or those Blues aficionados have their opportunity to shine... Also.. there were times in which a participant during their week stunned me by posting an album that I least expect they would and just heavily appreciated that since it gave everything an added dimension....

Anyways.... I notice that 2 (1 included myself) had voted "Yes" when I initially posted the poll, and then 3 (phillycard and Brandon_Webb seemingly being among those 3) since have voted "Yes" today..... That's an excellent start and I could begin to structure a set schedule.....

IIRC... Pariah, Oran, Chaplin, Rivercard, Bendcardfan, AZCB34, jw7, FischerKing, and Ryanwb out of those who participated in Album-a-Day previously still frequent/post in this forum, so I am wondering if any of you would like to do so again?

We could possibly begin w/in 2 wks and if you're doing Movie-a-Day (like myself) we'll prevent anyone's respective turns on both from overlapping (that would be quite the task).....

Well.. w/in 2 wks would include the July 4th holiday, so perhaps if someone is willing to do a somewhat abbreviated wk or just post 2 albums of their choosing on their 1st day....

Brandon_Webb, you could go 1st if you like... if not then I will.... it's up to you....

An addendum:

I had suggested before starting "Album-a-Day" that anyone is welcomed to incorporate both books and video/computer games into their turn, and that still applies....

I might in fact start this tomorrow since I already have quite a few albums on my mind, so again please list your name in this thread if you're interested to participate along with the others who have already volunteered.....

I wish you the best of luck in your tournament (that is if you're a participant in it).... Perhaps Ill schedule you for the wk starting the 7/18?

I guess the tentative schedule possibly could be:

1) Myself starting this wk

2) bankybruce (that is if you respond yes to my above question) 06/27

3) phillycard 07/04 (I guess more than likely you'd start 07/05 due to the obvious)

4) jstadvl 07/11 (that is if you're interested)

I'll add everyone for subsequent weeks accordingly......

Okay...I will update the schedule listed on the stickied thread above... If anyone else is interested, please let me know so I could include you...Again.. this is even opened to books and video/computer games of your choice....

I was originally going to start yesterday, however, it has taken considerable thought on what album to do that hasnt been already done that should generate some interesting discussion/debate, but with late lastnite's wonderful exchange with AZ Shocker (that included O and later Vince56 on the thread) inspired me to think of the following band...Now it's a matter of myself posting it and everyone reading and responding to it! :D

I guess you can put me in the list, KLL.

Although most likely I'll stay away from modern/classic rock and New Wave, FYI... :D

I have you added you to the scedule starting with the week of 7/25, please let me know if that doesnt pose any conflict/inconvenience for you.....

That's okay that you post on different genres than most discuss on here because it adds another dimension to the forum (and it's something I always encourgae heavily).... Never have any hesitance whatsoever on posting about an obscure artist too because the goal also is for everryone (including myself) to expand our musical horizons....

Actually.. we agree on several bands (like the Cure, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Enigma, and Moby) and I noticed that you posted about a band that I hadnt come across recently which is Thievery Corporation.....
