Why would anyone read what I wrote as a dramatic statement?

I just don't see the reason for him being high on anyone's list of potential HC's.
Because you start posts with "Why would anybody/anyone". :D

If you don't dig McCoy it's all good, but his past shows his ability to do his job, and also to be successful with QBs while some NFL teams are having problems with that. He makes QBs better is the word, that could be very beneficial to a few teams. He also runs the ball when his QB can't do it on his own.

We get to find out if McCoy is the guy now. If he is we should know by Monday.
That's a bit close but some time this week sounds about right if it is him. I still think we only have the 20% chance of McCoy, but I respect his game. I've just never heard any Keim/McCoy talk in the same google.

I'm not exicted about McCoy. In fact, I'm not excited about anyone we've interviewed, including Horton. :(

I forgot about that. And Orton too.

Orton was never a pro bowler, but he did post 4000 yards under his tutelage.

McCoy has a way of making chicken salad out of chicken **** as far as QBs are concerned. He's taken a drunk, a former undrafted NFL Europe QB, and a running back and made them look good-to-great.

For the record: I'm on the McCoy bandwagon. Join me, if you know what's good for you.

I think a part of it is because he respects the run instead of "having to rush it". He'll game plan bootlegs when appropriat for his QB, wide open options for dudes like Tebow, basic max protects so Manning can call it at the line. He's a good DJ, plays what the crowd will dance to.

As opposed to making the crowd dance to what the DJ wants to play? Garth Brooks music wouldn't fare well at a Lil Wayne concert.

Just like good coaches adapt to his players. Hell, McCoy brought out the option offense for Tebow, then let Manning run his reroute offense the following season.

You can throw out what the Broncos did this year and he still has to be high on a lot of teams lists. It's more about what he did with Tebow, Orton and Delhomme than what he did with Peyton.

I can't remember him being interviewed for a HC position before this year. Anyone find anything saying otherwise?

If people are after him because of what he did leading up to this year, then it's a lot more understandable. I admit, I'm not too familiar with him and I thought he was getting attention because of the Broncos success this year.

He was actually interviewed by the Phins last year and was scheduled to interview with the the Jags, but they didn't feel like waiting for him to become available.

Just to be cantankerous -

In Turner and Mularkey, we have 2 examples of good Oc's who weren't good HC's.

What makes us believe another OC (McCoy) won't follow in their footsteps...or for that matter, a DC like Horton.

My point, we should hire a HC based on individual coaching qualities and not merely a resume.

Well of course that's what they should do, but let's be honest we don't necessarily know all that much about how any of these candidates coach, especially in a HC position. I would certainly hope that those are the things that Keim and MB are looking at as well as resume.
