Damn, now they are taking QB for sure.

I'm not sure we want Garcia, he's been trouble calling people out wherever he's been. Not a team player.

No. Did something happen in Calgary that the rest of us don't know about. Enlightenment please.

He would be better than King but his injured back scares me. Obviously he would have to pass a physical. I guess it wouldn't hurt to bring him in for a workout and physical.

I apologize for duplicating this thread, for some reason it didn't show up on my screen until after I posted.

When evaluating Garcia, it really is best to take his Cleveland days with a grain of salt. Rarely have I seen an organization in shambles like that. He's been a great performer everywhere else. I understand the doubts, but I just think he'd be able to get the ball to Quan and Fitz, period.

As one of the resident Canadians on the board, I can say that, he had no problems, no issues - when he was in the CFL.

I don't see why we're considering bringing in Garcia when most of the board seems to have problems with McCown's lack of accuracy on the deep ball. While I saw McCown throw it up there as a jump ball far too often, I'd rather have that happening with the types of recievers we have than watch Garcia force them to come back for the ball so often. He's got a weak arm, and is becoming increasingly injury prone. In San Francisco he was a good quarterback because of the shorter throws that are the staple of the West Coast offense. Green's offense is much more wide open, and we need a quarterback who reflects that.

Couldn't agree more he's just not Green's style. Supposedly Gruden wants him, he nearly signed with Tampa last year but picked Cleveland instead, if you recall there were reports of "Garcia to sign with Bucs" for days before he changed his mind. If they really think Griese is too expensive the odds are they'll sign Garcia. Detroit allegedly is interested too.

Garcia really isn't the same guy since the back injury.

I had him in Fantasy the year his back was supposed to be bad. He didn't miss a game because of it and came on strong at the end of the year. 3 yrs of 3K yrd seasons and 20+ TDs in awesome. He has talent.

4. Arizona -- In some ways, the marriage of Garcia and Cardinals head coach Dennis Green seems ideal. Green isn't sold on Josh McCown and Garcia is a West Coast-style quarterback, where Green's background lies. On top of that, there's Green has a well-documented track record for getting great production out of veteran quarterbacks (see Warren Moon, Randall Cunningham and Jeff George).

But in truth, the Cardinals are probably a longshot. With Arizona's stockpile of big receivers who can stretch the field, Green would prefer a passer with a bigger arm than Garcia's. The Cardinals version of the West Coast system has a more vertical element to it, and is less dink-and-dunk than others."

Yeah I remember that vertical element well. Especially on third down. The Cards passing game in '04 was mostly dink and duck.
