Bruce Arians: Cards offensive line not as bad as advertised...link

“It’s not as near the dire straits everyone wants to make it out to be,” Arians said, via the team’s official website.

Arians believes the return of Levi Brown from the triceps injury that sidelined him for all of the 2012 will help the Cardinals line return to form. Despite some thought that Brown could move inside to guard, Arians sees him as a better fit at tackle. The offensive line isn’t entirely to blame for the number of quarterback sacks last year either.

“We are a lot better than what we showed last year,” Arians said.

God help us! :bang::bang::bang:

Why is it Levi has coaches fooled while some of the fans know he's an average player?

We had a chance to improve after cutting his sorry ass by the draft & all the FA OTs, but noooooo we sign his sorry ass back to the roster!!!

IMO our Oline deserves to suck because we didn't learn our lesson the first time we cut #75. :D

Did you think right before the draft that BA would say we have the worst OL in the league? Its all a cat and mouse game. Less info other teams below us have the better we will be off. Less info the Chargers, Titans, Dolphins have on us the better we will be.

Levi isn't our biggest problem right now. Our guards/center are below average.

Upgrade the weakest links before you fix the average guys.

Then again, I Think Brown would be an upgrade at OG.

You still don't begin to get better by resigning a mediocre player after letting him go, when you could've had a better option. I'm gonna laugh my ass off by week 3 when everyone here is lashing out against #75 because of his poor play because its gonna happen!

Totally agree with you, its that time of the year when GMs & HCs throw out all sorts of false information. Here is Bruce Arians on picking up information at the Combine: “I think any information you get, throw it out the window,” he said. “They’re lying to you. It’s all secretive.”

Coach speak.

We are stuck with Levi for better or worse for the next couple years. Hopefully we draft Luke Joeckel, Eric Fisher or Lane Johnson and move Levi back to right tackle where he belongs IMO.

Jared Gaither
Jeff Backus
Matt Starks
King Dunlap

IIRC, those players were available in the offseason.

Jeff Backus would have been way batter then Levi Brown, IMO.

Not suppose to ask those questions. It tends to confuse the haranguer. ;)

They can ask them all they want, yet when there are answers, that usually ruins the plan. :D

Were doomed.

It was so easy to see how bad our offensive line was going to be last year at this time, and then it was worse then anything that could have been expected.

Not much has changed so far for this offensive line, so yes, as it stands, we are doomed.

Sidenote: I cannot believe I was having debates last offseason on whether OG was a bigger need then the ILB position.......moot point since our incredible front office picks Michael "Hyper-bust" Floyd.

Generally speaking the fans know very little about these players compared to the coaches who see them every day at practices and know them personally. They also watch film by the hours. I in no way could make a judgement on Levi Brown as to where he is good or bad. We have posters who are ready to trash about any player you can think of based on watching a game on TV. Probably half of our posters thought Kurt Warner was a loser when we signed him. Many thought Jake Plummer would take us to the SuperBowl. I thought drafting Fitzgerald at #3 was dumb and way to high. I guess this is why we have a board to post on so we can all make fools of ourselves on occasion. With so many opinions out there someone is bound to be right sometimes but mostly as a group we are just speculators. I thought Graves was horrible at his job as GM. I often posted so. The fact is I still do not know just how much input he had into the people we drafted. Maybe he was just following orders and I was an idiot for posting he was an idiot.

The biggest problem with our o-line was Russ Grimm. I'm not saying the guys we had are world beaters but I think Grimm alone brought down the level of play. I have no doubt that there will be better line play just because he is gone. Addition by subtraction. The tackle play at the beginning of the year was horrible while Batiste was in there.

What do you expect him to say

'they suck'

'Wow, I've seen bad, but they redefined the word'

'They are the suckiest suck suck that's ever sucked.'

He's the HC, it's all gonna be on the up and up for now.

When players get signed and cut we will know the truth. You can't believe BA for one second that the current O line is even close to decent. On a scale of 1-10 where 10 is the best, Cardinals O line is at best a 3. They showed no run game and showed NO pass protection.

I think by the same token that if Arians gave his truthful opinion on Kolb he would say, "Dude cannot stay healthy and he is no where close to what we are paying him...wish I could cut his arse right now and those other QBs on the roster I would have never drafted in a million years." I think your right, Arians is just being player political right now in order to not throw the dirt of his actual judgement onto the public

:D

Yeah, just threw that in there.

Agreed it is way to early to label Floyd.

Yet, I hated the pick, and was very underwhelmed with what he brought to the table last season......accept his blocking. Damn good blocker, better then Rob Housler.

I think we saw what he can bring in the last game providing a minor miracle in catching dare I say something we had not been able to do with our suck QB situation...A TOUCHDOWN reception! LOL I agree we had more pressing needs, but in my opinion he will turn out to be a good WR :)

Thx Rugby

And that's not counting the guys available this year! Levi isn't in most of thems class!! Which is why it was a BIG mistake IMO resigning a guy that you released:bang:

Now we're stuck with him & probably going to ignore the problem again. Stupid Cardinals :mulli:

Seriously. The spirit of Al Davis certainly lives on in that organization

Floyd isn't a bust, but he's nothing special IMO. I really don't think Floyd is a better player than Roberts even though they have differant skillsets. Neither are differance makers, which is what you should draft in Rd 1 players.
