I don't have much faith in Gabbart now, nor did I care for him coming out of college. However, it's impossible to discount the ineptitude of Jacksonville and Chip Kelly in developing an NFL QB. If Bruce see's something in him, I don't see any downside to running him through our system this off-season, especially if they are going to limit Carson's throws and we have a 5th preseason game this year.

Go Cards!!!

I view Gabbert as something to talk about during the informational "black hole" of the offseason.

I didn't like any of the QBs in this years draft so this doesn't surprise me one bit.

Cardncubfan, thank you for pointing out my misspelling. I yelled because QB hell is coming. It'll hit like bronco nagurski hitting the end zone wall.
There is a plan. They are acquiring extra draft picks and will have CAP space to make things happen. They are getting younger and will continue to put out a winner. No need to be in panik mode at this time. ;)

For those of us disgusted with the upcoming options laid out by others, we're just preparing ourselves for panic.

I feel like a father who knows that he's losing his job in a few months but have to put on a bold face while the rest of the family enjoys summer vacation, haha.

Assuming we have a strong 2017, like I'm expecting, I don't think there's going to be any QB options in 2018 that aren't a real bitter pill to me to personally swallow.

In the rookie vid they posted, he looks very fast and fluid in space. Already a huge upgrade on Minter.

Still curious how he gets on the filed with Buc/Dansby.

I almost feel like itd be best to bench Buc, and let Dansby mentor HR in real time, facing live bullets together. That way he can point things out, hear the calls, and see the same things as Dansby.

So said the Titanic Captain.

1. Look at sportrac.com for our 2018 cap. If Larry decides to stay, we'll be less than 20 mil before the rookie hit. We might have some cap if Palmer quits and we drop Mauro.

2. Extra picks! All we acquired is 9 picks in 2018, one more than this year.

That would be hugely detrimental to Bucs progress. Reddick will just play as a sub, not a FT starter. Next year he can be a FT starter.

Im more concerned about Reddicks progress. We only have Dansby for 1 year. We should get as much hands-on mentorship out of him as possible.

Reddick is the future of this D, not Buc. Reddicks growth should be the priority.

Buc will be fine. Hes a 5 year pro, he wont regress.

Buc is also part of the future at this point and a core player on the defense. He needs to keep progressing, you cant just bench a starter to prepare a rookie, you sprinkle in the rookie until he PROVES he is more valuable to the starter. Dansby can hands on mentor the kid just fine without the kid replacing our starting ILB.

To claim benching a player for a year will not cause regression just shows a lack of understanding.

Buc could be moved to SS and I would love to see it happen. . but I doubt it will. There's no way he gets benched regardless, and I agree with BRR he's one of our core defensive players.

Yay! Another 1st-round pick burned on a non-starter :(
Well, if he's only not starting because of talent in front of him, not because of himself, no biggie imo. If he can ball he will see lots of snaps

Reddick doesn't come off as the brightest bulb on the tree. That would have scared me off drafting him.
