Hmmmm. Sounds as if he is quite interested in Browns job. Said it would be the only job he is interested in. Also said if he came back he would not call plays to take stress off the job and allow him to game coach. Says Freddie Kitchens is his guy from coaching him back at Alabama. Wants to get a call from Browns and would be disappointed if it didn't come.

Mike B calls BA and proposes:

1. Come back for 2 years
2. Build a staff with an eye towards grooming your replacement after the two years -- including the coordinator backfill for who moves in the HC job

I cant think of a move that would restore credibility with the fan base faster than this

I tried doing that with some girls I was with in college, never works as intended. MB had his chance at continuity after BA left and blew it.

The idea of you bringing back an old girlfriend with the expressed desire of her grooming replacement girlfriends for you is either the most brilliant or recklessly dangerous concept I’ve ever heard.

My hats definitely off to you for even attempting this, my good sir!

Retiring from us and then going to the browns will stain my fandom of his for sure. He could have said "im going to hire an offensive coordinator moving forward to make this less stressful to me" and stayed.

That wouldn’t build any credibility with me… They need to go in a different direction Bruce Arians ran his course here it was time for him to go…

All this BA to the Browns talk has me thinking he was forced out . And that upsets me as a cards fan. It also leads me to believe that neither Keim or Wilkes are going anywhere. If they wanted a complete philosophical change of direction then MB has to be willing to give It more than 1 season.

So what is Cleveland going to give us in return seeing as we own his rights?

1) No chance Arians does this.
2) You never know with fans and honestly, who cares what they think in the off-season? If you win, they support. If you lose, they hate. Look how many morons on this page were screaming for Arians’ head last year lol. It was the majority of the board. The same dummies are calling for Keim’s This year lol.

The primary reason (in his own words) for retiring was family. He said he missed a lot of time and didn't realize it until his wife mentioned that their son was turning 40. To jump right back into another coaching position means that was all BS or he just honestly values coaching over his own family.

or..... you realize there is only so much time your adult kids want to spend with you …… and you are bored

I know a few high achievement types who retired, and then got right back into things within a year

it happens

It's usually a BS line from any GM, coach, or player. They all say they are stepping away to spend more time with family yet they jump right into broadcasting or some other venture which takes up most of their time anyway. It's a tired old excuse that no one in the press is going to call them on because then they would look like the bad guy.

Hard to give something up that you did all your life. I think BA misses coaching. However, I don't think the Browns are interested in him. IMO BA won't be coaching anymore.
