Mike Tannebaum spent time in the NFL as the general manager and executive of the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins. During his time with those teams, he made several key moves and draft picks and has since become a voice people listen to in the NFL media space, regardless of what he has to say.
Tannebaum may not be everyone's cup of tea, as social media has been critical of him and his projected move. He published a mock draft this week with some good picks riddled throughout it.
One of those good picks went to the Bucs as he has them drafting Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell.
Tannenabum writes, "I thought about Michigan tight end Colston Loveland. I also scanned the offensive line and cornerback boards. But re-signing 35-year-old Lavonte David doesn't completely satisfy the linebacker need, and Campbell is a potential star. He fits what Todd Bowles looks for on defense -- tough, instinctive, productive and durable. Campbell is a classic three-down 'backer who can cover, blitz and tackle against the run. I love his size (6-3, 235 pounds), too. And Campbell had 112 tackles and five sacks last season. Sign me up."
The Bucs continue to be tied to Campbell, which makes a lot of sense. As Tannenbaum mentions though, he did consider Colston Loveland here as well. Tight end is a sneaky need for the Bucs, so do not be surprised if they go that route in next month's NFL Draft.
