Bucs select major SEC defender in latest PFF mock draft

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have some needs to address despite a strong first critical wave of free agency. Jason Licht and his staff will make their money yet again when it comes to roster construction at the NFL Draft.

Coming off a strong 2024 draft, momentum is on their side.

One way we can project for the Bucs is through mock drafts, of course, and PFF published their latest mock draft following the first wave of free agency. The picks were made by John Kosko and they had some new faces attached to teams as various needs were addressed across the league.

For the Bucs, Kosko has the team selecting Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell.

Kosko writes, "Lavonte David is 35 years old, and the Buccaneers have yet to solidify the linebacker position next to him since Devin White’s departure a year ago. Campbell has the size and is an elite athlete for the position. He needs to develop his read-and-react ability, but there is no better team to go to for that with the veteran David back in the fold."

Campbell would give the Bucs much-needed depth for 2025 and a security blanket for the linebacker position for 2026 and beyond.
