I think one thing a lot are overlooking is that the Suns are playing the Spurs early, instead of in the WCF. This should help the Suns because in the past, they really stumbled into the WCF. So if we are fresher, we might have a slight advantage.

Good point, you know after thinking about this a bit, some people just need to accept being the favorite, it's seems like something Phoenix fans have been struggling with forever.
We like being the underdog but you can't always be the underdog, you can't always have low expectations, I undestand it's a defense mechanism but get over it, really. Some fans would probably argue themsleves into believing we would be the the underdog to Houston, Utah or GS too.
If the Suns get past the Spurs some of you are just going to have to accept that.

I agree with your last statement but disagree with your second. Can you point out where SA has more talent than us?

I was going to ask the same question. As someone else pointed out if the Spurs players were a few years younger I might agree but imo:

Nash > Parker
Raja > Finley
Marion> Bowen
Amare and Duncan...not so sure at this point
Jr > Elson

Barbosa> Ginobli

OK I am bored with this.

The Spurs are a very good TEAM. They play tough, disciplined defense and don't make mistakes on offense. When playing as well as they can, the Suns are better, but the Spurs are much more consistent.

I think the oddsmakers know what they are doing.
If the game was in S.A. the odds may be different or closer, but the suns have a great chance of winning this series.
I fully expect them to take the Spurs in 6 games!

P.S. the Spurs do not have better talent than the Suns!

Now that Dallas choked away the GS series the NBA wants and needsPhx in the finals badly. I think the soft fix will be in.

Can you imagine the ratings on SA vs Hou and SA vs Clevland?

Suns are in good shape IMO.

The ESPN- Expert-picks:

Anthony and Broussard: Spurs in 6
Stein, Sheridan and Hollinger: Spurs in 7

Guess, the Suns are the underdogs after all. Looking at the "expert" predictions for GS vs Dallas might give some hope though.

However, nobody believed that GS could keep there domination over Dallas into the postseason while SA is a proven championship team and owned the Suns over the past three years.

I can't wait for game 1 to get a first look and hopefully will believe my own (very biased) prediction of Suns in 6.

I'm going to watch it with my mate who is a big Spurs fan. Should be fun! :)

We already called this. I think the national media thinks we are more of a show then legit title contenders. They keep pointing out how fun we are but don't take the Suns very serious. The Suns need to take care of home court. PERIOD.

3 guys pick the Spurs to beat us in 7? On our homecourt? Not going to happen.

I pick Suns in 5 btw. We really need to win the first 2, I am confident we will split in San Antonio, we always win one there. Close it out in Phoenix.

Kiki Vandeweghe suprisingly picks the Suns however.

I hope the Suns will either win it in 5 or 7. I have serious doubts that we can win a game 6 in SA with the home court advantage they usually get.

37% thinks Ginobili will have the biggest impact that's all you need to know. Ginobili will have Bell on him the entire series.

Experts like the Suns
05/03/2007 10:29 PM Bill Walton has no doubt. The winner of the Suns-Spurs second-round series wins it all.
And the famed NBA analyst favors the Suns.
"I think Steve Nash is the MVP, and I think the Suns are the best team in basketball,'' Walton told me Thursday. "Now they have to prove it. They're not playing against the Lakers anymore."
Walton says the Suns won't need to play fast to beat the Spurs. They'll just need to play smart, especially against Tim Duncan in the post.
"Tim Duncan has proven over time that he is one of the legendary forces in basketball,'' Walton said. "How do you beat someone like that? Someone who is older, bigger and more experienced. ... Phoenix has the best front line in basketball. They're not going to win by running fast. They're going to win by playing a smarter, more disciplined game than San Antonio."
Analyst Jon Barry also likes the Suns.
"I think this could be their year,'' he said. "I've seen them a lot, and I still want to see Dallas and Phoenix in the Western Conference finals. I think Dallas will get it done (against Golden State.)''
Well, Barry was wrong about the Mavs. We'll see if his prediction holds true for the Suns.

Huh? Always? When? How?

The last 2 times we split in SA. In 2003 when we didn't have homecourt we won game 1 and lost game 2. In 2005 we lost game 3 and won game 4 when we had homecourt.

We will split game 3 and 4! It all comes down to game 1 and 2. If we go up 2-0 the series is ours.

Oh, I thought you meant all games including regular season.
