Used to have? ESPN says that we only scored 12 points in the 3rd tonight. :(

Haha fair enough. Like you said, tonight seems to be the exception.

Of course, the Bulls also had a bad third. It used to be the other team would score 30, and we would score 10....

Yeah, that 3rd quarter that the Bulls won 14-12 was a real exciting 12 minutes of basketball! :D

Yeah the third quarter was ugly as hell. I am surprised we scored 12.

Nash #3 , Amare #8 and Johnson #10 rank in the top 10 in adjusted FG%.

What is adjusted FG%? I've never heard of this. How do they adjust it? Thanks.

So Q only got 24 minutes tonight. I hope this is another wake-up call to add to his growing list of wake-up calls...

Adjusted FG Percentage = [(PTS - FTM)/FGA]/2
What is that supposed to show?

I haven't heard of that either.

I certainly don't like how slow we come out in the first quarters of games. Any theories why that is? (Today seems to be an exception)

no clue - to be honest with you - watching the few games I have - I seem to always get really mad at D'Antoni and then all of a sudden we'll be up by 20 points - so you're asking the wrong person why anything happens on this team.

It takes into consideration the effect of 3's.

Example that is commonly used:

A player scores 6 points on 3/5 shooting. All 2 point FGS.

The adjusted FG% = .600

A player scores 6 points on 2/5 shooting. All 3 point FGS.

The adjusted FG% = .600

Basically, it is a way to give real shooters credit. People like Ray Allen never have as good a fg% as Shaq, even though they are obviously better shooters. The adjusted helps weight it due to their points per shot.

Well, our 2nd quarters have been pretty amazing, I think I read somewhere that we score at a ratio of 3:1 or something in 2nd quarters.

This game just reaffirms my belief that Chandler would be a much better fit than Curry for this team.
Not sure what you mean by that?

It appeared to me that Curry had a decent game and Chandler struggled most of the game. Chandler is very weak for a big man. He had trouble against anyone for possesion of the ball on rebounds.

I dont think we are watching the same game. I saw Chandler pull boards down in the middle of 3 suns multiple times....

I mean Tyson had 5 OR, and 9 boards in 30 minutes. That is what we need from a center. Not a scorer. SOmeone who will go after boards and try to block shots. ALso, he can still score when needed, so even better.

I dont think he is perfect, just 10x better than Curry for this team (not the better overall player)

Q hyperextended his elbow, hope the doctor puts something in there that'll help the shooting woes. He is now at 29% total and 22% from 3.

The suns totally cruised through this game. I didn't see anybody really extend themselves too much tonight. Wednesday is a potential trap game. So I think the Suns now have the best record in the league to go along with the other 'bests' in the league they currently have :)

Chandler sucked on offense down in the paint. Sure he grabbed some rebounds, but he had trouble scoring over anyone that tried to guard him. He also went to the basket weakly every time.

The problem in the 3rd qtr was that Chicago went to a zone defense and the Suns just bricked up 3's(7-30 for the game). Luckily the Suns played pretty decent defense themselves and Chicago missed a lot of shots.

Oh and the Suns are now tied for the best record in the NBA.

I hope it was the Suns defense, but it looked like the Bulls are just not very good. Awful is perhaps the correct description.

The Suns inability to break the zone was frustrating. The Bulls played a matchup zone and the Suns kept shooting contested three's. It was UGLY.

Things changed when the Suns ran a backdoor alley oop jam to Shawn and Amare hit Jake for a dunk on a very nice interior pass. The Suns just need to have more patience and not get in such a hurry to shoot contested shots.

Lampe looked a bit tentative, but he hit his first shot and grabbed three rebounds. I sorry D'Antoni didn't try him against the zone in the third quarter, he might have really shaken the Bulls up.

BTW, has the Skiles death watch begun?

I don't know if any coach could win consistently with the team the Bulls have. Still I never liked Skiles and I'm amazed he's had the patience to last this long.

amare only had 8 fga's tonight...he could have had a lot more if he wanted, but he seemed as though he was content to set picks and find the open man.

Man, the Bulls suck so bad that we might be in the same position as Detroit 2 years ago - contending for a title and having someone else's really high draft pick. Awesome! Now we can go waste it on a big Euro with "upside". Martynas Andriuskevicius anyone?? :p

Amare Stoudemire should be moved to PG  , Steve Nash SG (to shoot ;) ), Joe Johnson to SF (Point-Forward), Quentin Richardson PF (to rebound and defend), and Shawn Marion to C (rebound and block shots)...

I'd like to see a PG defend Stoudemire... the other 4 even at their positions

Stoudemire can pass and when he does the team will be that more effective - Richardson can score though and that could really start hurting teams when he gets going.

Suns could use 1 of those great games by Steven Hunter to shut down teams in the next few...
