Best burritos I've ever had were in Santa Fe...just seriously GOOD stuff.

Others I liked were at some hole in Flagstaff...really good stuff.

I'm down for any burrito that doesn't have cilantro in it.

Amen. Cilantro can destroy anything.

Roberto's in San Diego is the best burrito ever. Their California Burrito is the stuff of legend.

Carne Asada
Cheese
French Fries
Guacamole
Sour Cream

You can get California burritos out here at Ramiros.. Its what I usually get...

Best Burrito - The Chile Relleno Banado at Little Nellie's in Las Cruces, NM. A chile relleno, refried beans, and your choice of red or green chile pork wrapped in a fresh tortilla and then smothered in red or green chile and cheese. Also, Little Nellie's makes some of the hottest green chile sauce I have ever tasted...it puts Los Dos Molinos to shame as far as heat.

Best Burrito in Phoenix - Probably Chipotle's....

Best Burrito nearby - I usually grab a burrito at Pancho Villa's in the Mission or at the new location by the Ferry Building in SF. They inspired Chipotle's...but their's are much better. The proportion of rice, beans and meat is always perfect.

Definitely not a place for you. I can handle my food spicy...but sometimes Little Nellies is a bit rough on the body....the sweating, the shaking, the sinuses clearing.....but I always find myself going back for more.

Are you from LC and live in SF? Two of my close friends are from Las Cruces and live in the bay area.

I grew up in El Paso and went to Grad School in Las Cruces. I just moved from Phoenix to the Bay Area in May. I lived out here for a few years in the early 90's and decided to move back. Did your friends ever go to NMSU? I was there from 93-95.

What part of the Bay Area do they live in?

I'm laughing so hard at you right now....I just don't understand how people describe what happens to them in such negative terms & then go on to say, "It's GREAT!" Last time I checked...all that stuff you said is B-A-D, BAD!! ;)

It's addictive....eating spicy food makes your brain release chemicals that your body craves. Once you come down from a chile high...you want to go eat some more.

Not to mention that spicy food raises your metabolism.

That is what I am talking about. I will get one of those relleno things before I die. And the Mission's burritos are the best!!

Chipotle the best in Phoenix? No way. Ever. No. Way.

I don't love Chipotle's...but I can't think of a great or really good burrito in Phoenix. I like Carolina's tortillas...but the meat often has the texture of dog food.

I loved Pico Poca Taco (or whatever the name was...40th and Camelback) Carne Asada Burrito smothered in green sauce, but they closed down about 4 years ago.

When you are in Phoenix again, hunt down Rico's. I refuse to believe that somewhere out there in the desert there isn't a better burrito place than Chainotles.

I wasn't wild about Carolinas either.

Awesome....i read that and my jaws clenched and I salivated. Yikes...that's when you can virtually taste the chile goodness.

I don't know why that matters. Quality ingredients and lots of them, unless it's the manager making the burrito of course.
Because I said so. And because I would rather have a grandmother's recipe say what goes in the food than some CEO/beancounter.

:)
