So did this castoff sign with the Lions or is his mom full of smoke also?

Cardinals | B. Davis refused to join practice squad
Wed, 5 Sep 2007 00:39:41 -0700

Mike Tulumello, of the East Valley Tribune, reports free-agent LB Buster Davis (Cardinals) refused to join the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad.

Holy moley. Way to disappoint those in your fanclub.

Interesting quote from Urban in the underground podcast (and I will paraphrase):

in dicussing why Davis got cut "...and there are reasons that are best left where they are. It wasnt just on the lack of on field performance that got him cut."

Wolfley described him as like a college freshman who gets to school and then missed his girlfriend back home so much that all he wants to do is go back.

Apparently his play was worse than we even apparent to us TV viewers. Wolf was saying that Buster literally gave up in the middle of plays -- just stopped.

Just a suspicion, but Buster didn't play in a very sophisticated D scheme at FSU. He just ran around like a heat seeking missile. He was an explosion or a miss.

You know how mom's are. They sometimes forget, or don't remember the exact details, and rather than short their son or daughter, they pump it up a bit.

She said going to detroit, and sign with the lions.

But really (joking) it was

I think maybe his Mom really "shorted" him.

So Buster is too good to play for us, but hes willing to play for the Lions .. ??

Thats a big step backwards to me ... We are an up and coming team and to me the Lions are still dysfunctional ...

I don't think the Lions will be that bad this season. I think they could surprise some people.

As long as Kitna/Calvin Johnson become a duo, I will be happy.

Roy Williams on one side,Calvin on the other, Mike Furrey in the slot is scary good potential. 8 wins in a very weak division might be where they go.

Somewhere on a message board in detroit a similar conversation is going on except vice versa....

You guys better be careful. Mr. T said not to talk about his mother. Almost killed Howard Stern for mentioning his mother.
