The moon must be full.
The newspaper fan blogs are full of comments ripping Eric Green (whom I think is emerging as a good #1 corner).
In evaluating rookies, I think we have to do it from two different points of views: (1) How did he look recently? and (2) What might he look like after he has a season of coaching-up and weight/conditioning work under his belt. Many rookies start off relying on their God given college talent to get them through their first year - this may be enough for someone like Levi or Branch (or Breaston due to his return skills) to still contribute, but sometimes this isn't good enough for less high profile guys like Buster or Patrick.
Those guys haven't shown much yet, but I'd be inclined to give them more time to learn their craft and develop.
Other guys who intrigue me: Hunter (an athletic guy who has a lot to learn. He played much better this week than vs. Houston), Holloway (how do you not be patient with a guy who can make a Superman-like play like he did on that sack - if he can do it once, he can be trained to do it again and again) and Trannon (because "you can't coach size" and he proved he can go up and git it at crunch time).
Rolle is a huge disappointment (He appeared to actually "play down" to his new role of nickel/dime DB and continued to make coverage and assignment mistakes that continue to cost us big time. To me, it doesn't seem as if he lacks talent or heart - it's as though he's playing like a zombie out there. Somehow someone has to get inside his head and straighten it out. You hate to waste potential like that).
