We all know Boldin is better than Fitz.

Speak for yourself, I honestly believe Fitzgerald will have a longer and more productive career than Boldin. Thats not saying I don't like Boldin but I think people overrate him and underrate Fitzgerald at the same time.

the front office better work like hell to keep this team together, we need fitz dansby and johnson extended, whatever the cost, i want my stars on the field and winning championships for me,

but they will try and sell a rumor about his ties to Minnesota and green to the point that they will have him giving up his football career all together to host a talk show with denny on espn radio cause he has so much man love for him

PFT is a joke...

...however, there will probably come a point in time where the Cards have to decide on who to keep among the top paid guys (Fitz, Boldin, Leinart, Wilson, possibly Dansby) and my bet is one would be SOL. Even though the cap continues to rise, there will likely be a point where a difficult decision will be made.

Not sure I agree with that. Boldin, Leinart, and Wilson all have several years left on their contracts. Dansby will probably get a new deal this year. If this team starts winning, then drafting in the second half of the first round, their cost for their first-round draft choice will go down considerably. There should be plenty of money in 2008 to extend Fitz.

If after watching the Seattle game, and one still feels this team can afford to get rid of Fitz...then you need to watch that game again. We still have not seen how good this kid is going to get at the position. Morency as a starting WR? uh, I'll pass.

I agree JS, IMO here where I am absolutely convinced that fans are generally morons.

First of all guys there is no Morency, before we anoint Morey as the starting WR maybe we need to get his name correct.

Secondly, and this is where fans are really stupid. Morey is mainly getting his starting WR job for special teams work and not his WR skills, did anyone see his drop? oh wait who cares, fans like him. start em. And while were at it, when fitz leaped and caught that ball over the CB for 40 yards wehy didn't he just keep aloft, defy gravity and fly into the end zone like Q does? man that was just weird, that's all I am saying.

But hey maybe "Morency" will make a tackle on special teams next week and we can start him at QB the next?????? Cardinal logic baby!

I don't know sometimes I think the cardinal fans on this board like AJ and Conrad are brilliant, and then there are the others who just make up nonsense.

I liked Morency better when he was with The Smiths.

I am going to create a poll. Who is better, Larry Fitzgerald or Anquan Boldin... because I honestly think Anquan is far more valuable to this team, and was recently described by Baltimore defense as Hines Ward on HGH.

Same rumor every year. Hopefully the same result this year.

Agreed.

Poating anything from PFT should be a bannable offense.

Again, agreed. Can we make this a rule or something?

Don't bother. It is a well-known fact that there is much more love for Quan on this board than there is for Fitz.

Personally, I hope these issues of trading Fitz, Quan vs. Fitz and is-Fitz-not-happy-cause-Denny-left don't come up EVERY SINGLE WEEK of the season. I have lots of friends who are fans of other teams and they would KILL to have both Fitz and Quan on their teams.

We are 1-1 in the league and the division. Can we all just settle down a bit?

That’s funny, they think he is on a pace for an 80/856 season. The way I look at the numbers is a little different.

The 1st game he went 3/20 and the 2nd he went 7/87. Now that is a 233% increase in receptions per game and a 435% increase in yards. So if he keeps up at that pace I see him ending up with a 1,740,000 reception 98,135,000,000 yard season; shattering all previous records.

Unfortunately he still we be held without a touchdown and many darksiders will be calling for his release.

Let me point out just how ******** this is.

From PFT
POSTED 9:08 a.m. EDT, September 20, 2007

There's no indication that Fitzgerald, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2004 draft, plans to try to force his way out prematurely. Based on the escalators in his rookie contract, there was speculation when it was signed that the Cardinals would likely have to extend the deal after four seasons. Since this is Fitzgerald's fourth season, and given that it's hard to justify two highly-paid wideouts (Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin) if the offense doesn't take full advantage of both of their skills, it could be time for the Cardinals to think about trading Fitzgerald.

So there is no indication this is true and it is speculation based on the chance that the Cardinals would rather ditch him than just pay his deal or restructure his contract.

Absolutely pointless.

Well everybody, don't tell anyone but there's unconfirmed speculation possibly coming from players who may or may not be coached by someone who could be one of Ken Whisenhunt's staff that Matt Leinart, since he's from the Los Angeles area, is biding his time and will opt out of his contract if/when Los Angeles is awarded an expansion team. Add to that his career at USC and it's a foregone conclusion that Leinart will be leaving the Cardinals.

I'm also hearing that Coach Whis really wanted the Pittsburgh gig, so he's going to wait the 15 years Tomlin will have the job so that he can jump over there. Sorry, he's only going to be in Arizona for the meantime.

I think it's unlikely that both Boldin and Fitz will play their entire careers together. Add in the fact that we've got a lot invested in the WR position in a run-first offense, and it makes sense that we'd let one of them leave sooner rather than later.

I also think that it makes more sense that Fitz is the one we either trade or let walk when the contract expires based on the type of offense we have now and the coaches' comparisons of Boldin and Ward.
