Now West Virginia will take the lead and likely win Thanks to a stupid decision by Todd Graham

Smallwood drops a fumble that fell into his hands, wow!

OK, so now at least WV left too much time on the clock. Should be able to get down to field goal range here hopefully

Did anyone else notice that it was West Virginia State Police guarding the West Virginia coach on the field?

I'm pretty sure each team has their own Police at games nowadays from what I've seen

Weird. You would think that all these colleges would agree that budget speaking it's cheaper to hire security at the Games then it is to bring your own. Most of these are state schools.

The only reason I am still watching is I actually want to see graham get fired tonight!!!! I know it won't happen.... But I'm pissed!!! This defense is might be the worst I've ever seen.

I agree. I don't think I have ever watched a worst defense from a college team ever. Their WRs were always opened. Brown looked like he was trying to let them get open. Why on earth was the O coordinator fired and not the D coordinator? Was the worst I have ever seen ASU play on D. WV had 2 3rd an long plays and they ran it and both ended up getting first downs. One was 3rd and 13 and the other was 3rd and 22, 22!! Just sad!

Norvell wasn't fired, he was offered and accepted the HC job at Memphis.

I'm curious how secure Todd Graham's job is after this season. The way he handled preseason expectations was abysmal. IMO, he put way too much unneeded pressure on himself, his coaches, and his young players. To go out publicly and tell the free world that this is the best team he's ever coached, wear National Championship bracelets to games, and print poster of the trophy for the practice field was counterintuitive to the message he was sending. It gave the fans false expectations, and I would have to imagine that Ray Anderson is pretty upset.

Of course, if ASU goes 10-3 next season, this is all moot, but Graham is going to be breaking in a new OC and new QB, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that this team wins 6-7 games next season. Would that be enough for Graham to keep his job?

I can't remember asu having a worse secondary than they did this year. Brown was getting beat on almost every route that was longer than 10 yards last night. I'm surprised the qb wasn't targeting him every damn snap, I was at the game and there were plenty of plays where he was getting beat deep but they didn't go his way. He could have thrown for 650 easy if he wasn't missing deep throws with wide open receivers fairly often.

The offensive play calling was the same crap it's been all year, but we picked up a ton of yac on screen plays so the stats don't look bad. I don't understand their reluctance to go deep especially early in the game when WV had their safeties playing like 7-8 yards deep and berc has a pretty good long ball. If there was ever a time to throw in some play action to try and go deep it was then. They started dropping one safety back deeper but he was cheating away from lucien's side so naturally we never tried hitting Lucien deep in 1v1 coverage early on either. It seems like the only deepish route they want to call is the sideline throws were berc threads it in between coverage to him. I don't know what their strategy was this year. So many screen passes.

It's the same story every single year with asu, just going to be a perennially decent football school that will find a way to screw up and disappoint you when they have a chance to put together a great season. This year was just a train wreck. Maybe they will find a way to get over the hump but this team has killed my otherwise optimistic outlook on the teams I route for.

And did graham ever say why he didn't go for two late in the game? I see no logical explanation for that one either.

I don't care about how bad everything else was but this was the reason why I was furious. Being up 6 is the same as being up 5 at this point in the game. It should have been a no brainer to go for 2. As soon as that xtra point went through to put ASU up by 6, I knew the Devils were going to lose by 1. The defense could not stop the wind last night. Bad coaching decisions were a huge reason for this loss

I can't believe I stayed up late to watch that garbage. The defense was awful and the offense had NO running game worth mentioning. I would think next year is a make or break for Graham.

It was definitely a brain fart Graham had. I don't think next year is a make or break year because he has I think, four years left on his contract. I do think he will be firing some of his assistants.

The offense put up enough points to win. The D did nothing, worse I have seen them all year.

I was surprised to read after the game that the new OC was handling the play calling. They previously said he was just going to work with the WR's and QB's to finish the year. Not too bad, except for the 2 point conversion non call obviously, both he and Graham took the blame for it. I thought coaches carry a little card around with the different score combos and when you should go for 2 or not. But what do I know.
