I agree with this---CC's contract hamstrung this year's CAP and the Cardinals do not want to do that again.

I think CC will chase the highest offer and that won't come from the Cardinals. If he was offered the same numbers as the Michael Bennett deal by the Cardinals, I bet he wouldn't take it.

Your probably right Mitch. Bennett's deal is a hometown one and if CC really wants the most money, there will be a team in free agency that will pony up. I can't blame him if he takes the money.

Totally agree, Mitch. CC is not coming back. I would like to see the Cards sign Chandler Jones to a long term deal rather than the franchise tag.

The Card's just paid CC's contract in full with no 'kicking down the road', so to speak.

You are free to think that accounting for a $16m bonus over two seasons is a good idea, but the chances that they would hamstring precious CAP space in this fashion are slim and none - imo.

How does an elite player playing at an elite level "hamstring us"? He was cut a huge paycheck, and he fully earned it every week with his difference making play.

To me, a hamstring contract is Tyrann Mathieu. A guy whos not living up to the dollars. That is absolutely not CC.

CC is still playing dominantly today, and if we give him a huge 2 year extension, he will continue to be dominant and help us win. Hes a part of the solution, not the problem. If anyone deserves a big bite of the cap, its CC.

CC hasn't reached a point in his career where the best he can expect is a 2 year hitch and, again, spreading out guarantees gives the team CAP flexibility.

Sorry - I meant it in a good way since your autocorrect likely gave you 'perimeter' instead of 'parameter' and you didn't notice.
What's sad is I tried several times to spell it correctly then I told myself not to worry about it.
