With the quarterback market thinning, Cameron Heyward is putting on his recruiting hat – sort of.

The longtime Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman made headlines last week for his comments on the team's pursuit of Aaron Rodgers. Heyward said that Rodgers either wanted to be a Steeler or not, adding that would be his recruiting pitch and there would be no darkness retreat.

During an appearance on "Good Morning Football" on Wednesday, Heyward was asked what he would say to Rodgers. He also addressed his previous comments, saying they are being misconstrued.

"When I look at our team right now, it would be really cool to have a guy like Aaron Rodgers," Heyward said. "I can't be the guy that gets it over the finish line. He's got to make those decisions for himself."

Heyward said he didn't have any conversations with Rodgers, despite his visit to the team's facility.

"If you come to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the goal is to win," Heyward said about what he'd say to the quarterback. "We haven't had the success we want, but the goal is still in mind is to raise a Lombardi and bring that seventh one to Pittsburgh. We don't really care about the glitz and glam of New York, but the focus is on good hard football. Competing every day, challenging each other and trying to go from there."

Heyward previously expressed on his "Not Just Football" podcast that he is tired of talking about the quarterback situation.

The four-time All-Pro has continued to say his comments about Rodgers are being made a bigger deal than they were, also saying that during an appearance on "The Rich Eisen Show" on March 21.

Heyward might be tiring of the quarterback discussion, but he's feeling the pressure to win.

"I think we're in a state of urgency," Heyward said about the Steelers. "We have a lot of guys, like myself, that are in the latter stages of their career and we all want to win. It's not just enough to win a playoff game, which we haven't won in a couple years and there's a bad taste in our mouth because of that."

With Russell Wilson signing with the New York Giants and Rodgers seemingly being the best available quarterback, the market is drying up.

That likely leaves Rodgers and the Steelers with just one option – each other.
