Practice was held outside today on the lower field. It was an extremely light practice for the most part.
Started off with really light 11 on 11 walkthrough. Next was KR walk through.
Then they broke into positional drills which IMO are actually fun to watch. This is where you have a chance to actually watch the footwork and of each and every player. I concentrated watching the LBers. Smoothest and best footwork IMO came from Porter, Haggans, Wahsington, Lenon and Brown. You can see just how quick Washinton is. I still cant get over just how badly pigeon toed Baggs is. Yet he seems to have zero issue with it.
Again they broke into KR walk through which is a complete bore to watch.
Next was 7 on 7 drills which are always fun to watch. It was conducted inside the red zone from the 20 yard line going in. Leinart was not
sharp again completing 3 of 6 passes and throwing an Int to DRC. All three completions were either really short crossing patterns to Fitz or a dump off to Hightower. The other 3 including the INT were anything attempted over 10 yards.
Anderson was just as unimpressive. He went 3-6 and threw an INT to Toler who made a nice play on the ball. He did have one nice fade throw to the impressive rookie WR Stephen William in the back corner of the endzone. But the catch was more impressive than the thro IMO.
Matt's next turn he went 3 for 3 but again they were all dump offs. Anderson went 2 for 3 on his next turn.
Then They started to do 11 on 11 at much closer to full speed. They had just started and Matt threw a pass behind Stephen Spach that should have been INT's by Adams. He just knocked it down.
It was at this point in time when I heard the words "Dad I have to poop" So I had to escort my son to the port of potty's and let him perform his business while practice was going on. So unfortunately I missed most of the 11 on 11
I came back in time to see Skelton throw a 45 yard pass down the left side line to Stephen Willliams #14 who had to slow down and come back to the ball to make a spectacular deep catch. The kid just keeps making play after play. Another case of a great adjustment by the kid and a mediocre throw.
That was about the extent of practice. It should be noted that I hope Grimm gets back soon. The OL was doing a whole lot of standing around during positional drills.
I will have another report up later this evening following the PM practice.
