Exactly, Matt will start if for no other reason than to audition for the job.

The only way he wouldn't is if Anderson just lights it up in pre-season and Matt just sucks.

I don't see that happening and I see Matt starting and then I see the rubber meeting the road and then it'll be over one way or another.

Totally agree, Matt will be the starter and his real game performance will ultimately decide if he keeps the job or not.

Shows how much it matters. Leinart has always seemed like a gamer - let's see what happens when the lights come on.

How so? As of yet Plummer was a far the superior player. Matt needs to prove otherwise.

Plummer was one of the best QBs to ever play the game. To do what he did with the absolutely worthless talent he was surrounded with by the Bidwills and the 70-80 year olds they had as scouts is amazing.

Of course if Jake were on the team now he would be on the bench because he is an expert at flashing hand signals.

It wasn't a comparison of Leinart/Plummer...

I think what he was saying; and I tend to agree with him; is that Leinart seems to be the type of player who performs at his best when it counts.

Given that I am not so sure that we will even see much from Leinart in the pre-season games. He needs to be sharp starting Sept. 12th.

Sure there is the argument that if he doesn't do it in practice, he won't do it in the games. But there is also the argument that some players shine in practice and others perform best in prime time.
