heard the same thing from everyone when we got Kolb. The proof will be in the pudding. Thank God we're getting closer to the pudding being served because I'm STARVING for some football.

Now we have a real QB, an improved O-line, and hopefully a real live starting NFL running back with two legs. There is no doubt in my mind that the offense will be greatly improved, but I still don't see us winning more than two games in our division. 2-4 in the division and 6-4 out of the division makes us 8-8. I'll take it for the first year of the BASK regime.

In North Bend, WA this weekend, staying with Howard Mudd (retired after last season)...He is good friends with Arians and Tom Moore... his belief is that there is some special talent on this team, believes this coaching staff is one of the best and has high expectations that our offense will be very good, and fun to watch...FWIW...Thinks Palmer has the best set of receivers he has ever worked with and that he still looks strong...he also said he plans on enjoying the "fan experience" for the first time in his life this year and hopefully will be joining our tailgate this season :)

I agree with this, but it will still come down to whether injuries become rampant. The injury bug seems to be everything or nothing. If we stay relatively healthy, this will/should be an interesting team to watch. I'm staying grounded, but I can't deny I'm optimistic.

I probably think this every offseason and then have a year to forget, but this offseason seems especially long. :)

I think the difference between Kolb and Palmer is you know what you're going to get. A QB that can throw for 4k yards and 20ish touchdowns and probably about 15 interceptions. With Kolb we all had high hope but we didn't really know what he was.

Agree with this. I am trying my best to not set my expectations too high and just let them play.

Looking forward to an improved offense after all we have suffered through the last couple of years. No more 3 and outs? Or a lot less for sure.

I agree with CC...but think year 2 is the year we rock! I think the Cards can compete for a division title & all the marbles in 2014, unless Bowles shows he can't coach defense.

Bowles is a real key to our success.

If the defense can maintain what we had going last year that will be huge in putting this team in a position to compete for the division title.

Nice bit of fluff there, but I think I will take a Missouri stance on this whole thing.

Kolb was the great white hype though, Palmer can actually play.

Kolb was (and is) a fragile WCO quarterback. Carson Palmer fits BA's system. CP isn't Kurt Warner but he's a legitimate NFL quarterback and that's a step up from the pretenders of the last three years.

I agree that the Cardinals, more than any team in the division, have to stay healthy to be competitive. Outside of CB and RB, the depth is thin to non-existent. Steve Keim and BA will eventually improve the depth IMO, but for 2013 there is no margin for error or injury.

Palmer has proven he can play, guy has had some monster years. Does he still have anything left in the tank is a real question. With Kolb people were just seeing what they wanted to see and ignoring the strong evidence that he was a chump.

+1 on the Palmer/Kolb comparisons. Palmer may not pan out in Arizona, but he does have a body of work to examine, and on two different teams. Kolb still doesn't have a consistent body of work to examine, and trading the perfect conditions at U of P for Ralph Wilson is going to help things. If Kolb can stay healthy, an ability to be a game manager and stay accurate in adverse weather conditions could be a plus, but durability remains a questions.
