With all of the momentum the Cards have generated starting with the hiring of Green and carrying through to this years free agency period, how much damage will it cause if they they had an absolute cluster*%/! of a draft? If this was another draft that left fans scratching their heads in a cloud of utter shock.
Everyone is riding a wave of euphoria with the turnaround of play from last years team, a highly touted draft and the ability to land the hidden gems in free agency. Enough so that it left the Cards feeling comfortable about raising ticket prices before moving into the new stadium.

Personnel wise, this team is still way too thin to have a bad draft. The ill effects a piss-poor draft would have on the forward momentum the franchise seems to have in the community would also be devastating which means we hopefully won't see Calvin Pace Part II this Saturday. Again, thank God Denny Green is in charge.

Having a bad draft this year could really hurt because there aren't any real star quality players but appear to be a lot of blue collar guys. So to call this draft a success you need to get at least 4 guys who will give you steady if not spectacular performance.

A miss will probably mean you get a guy who can't play at all rather than taking a supposed stud player who turns out to be just average which could happen in a more top heavy draft.

Look at New England, they win with those type of players, not much flash, but steady performers.

"..and in this corner.."

We have gone through bad drafts so many years in a row it seems, and have languished for it! DG is changing that, and while two strong drafts in a row seem like too little in the face of the prior decade's sht stall, everyone of us know the optimism finally FINALLY FINALLY of a level playing field.. I for 1 always felt so hamstrung while the Cards were being derided for their drafts.. NO MO!!

Absolutely not. Especially with the Tobin/McGinnis alumni that Denny is cutting left and right.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for getting guys that buy into his system. But it leaves very little room for error in the draft.

I'm afraid that we need a draft as good as last years if we want to even keep up with the Jones. The division is week, but some teams within the conference have improved. We'll need to win the devision to see the playoffs.

I don't know, maybe with some improvements with former bust like Wendell Bryant. I definetly think we are an improved team from last year without the draft, but we will have to hit on a CB and get a RB Henry or Benson.
