Cason has been pretty good in both Dallas and Detroit, but did not get much playing time. Hambrick is better than Smith or anyone on the team right now.

I would like to see a Heavy dose of both of them tonight!

no.

Last year Parcells was asked if Cason could be the starting back

he replied something along the lines of "not if we want him alive after week six" -- meaning Parcells thought Cason was too small to be an 25 carries a game back.

Hambrick is situational

No way Cason is a 25 carry a game back. Hambrick could have been had he screwed his head on the right way!

Josh Scobey better get his walking papers set. Cason may be too small to start at HB but he can take Scobey's kick return duties away and could be our third down back... Cason is very fast (might have a fumble problem though, can't remember).

Not sure about his blocking skills.....but Cason is the speed back we lack and Hambrick is the "3 yards and a cloud of dust" hammer that we need.

Whether or not they can fill those roles remains to be seen.

ES seems to be the starter...but these 2 have the "potential" (don't you hate that word) to actuall play more than Smith.

Let's see how they catch the ball tonight as well.

Hambrick would have a shot if Emmitt were to go down or struggle. Otherwise, he figures to be #2 backup and short-yardage dude. (Note - Keep an eye on him for attitude. In the past, he's had a reputation for being grumpy or sulking when he's not featured. But if he's being bum-rapped or has learned to roll with the punches, he could help us a lot).

Cason is more of a role player. He could wind up returning punts (and possibly kickoffs) while being our 3rd down pass catching option out of the backfield. But he's still going to have to prove he's worth keeping more than Scobey, Anderson or Croom.
