Historically, the Oregon Ducks have had a lot of success when it comes to sending players to the NFL, with dozens of players drafted in the past decade and continuing their careers at the highest level. That is especially the case under Dan Lanning and his coaching staff, with the Ducks breaking the program record for most draft picks last year, sending eight players to the NFL.

In 2025, that record is expected to be broken once again, with as many as 10 former Ducks projected to be selected when all is said and done. What many fans are curious about, though, is whether or not Oregon can keep an impressive streak alive on Thursday night.

Oregon Ducks FIrst Round Draft Streak

For the past four years, the answer to that question has been "yes." The streak started in 2020 with Justin Herbert being selected by the Los Angeles Chargers at No. 6 overall, followed by Penei Sewell going to the Detroit Lions at No. 7 in 2021, Kayvon Thibodeaux going to the New York Giants at No. 7 in 2022, Christian Gonzalez going to the New England Patriots at No. 17 in 2023, and Bo Nix going to the Denver Broncos at No. 12 in 2024.

In total, Oregon has had 23 first-round draft picks in program history, dating back to quarterback George Shaw in 1955. On Thursday night, they would like to push that number to 24, and potentially 25 if things break the right way.

Will the Oregon Ducks have a player drafted in the first round?

Based on a majority of mock drafts that have come out this spring, Oregon fans should enter Thursday night with some confidence that at least one Duck will hear his name called. There's a decent chance that two players get drafted in the first round as well.

Defensive lineman Derrick Harmon is projected to be the first Duck off the board, and he could end up going as high as the mid-teens. Behind him, many believe that left tackle Josh Conerly could end up being a first-round pick as well, though there have been several mock drafts that slide him to the second round. Ultimately, Conerly's fate will be decided by the run on LTs and when it starts in the draft. If players like Will Campbell, Kelvin Banks, and Armond Membou go early, then Conerly may be able to sneak into the late first round.
