Can someone explain to me what a "pancake block" is?

Isn't it an Offensive Lineman move where he moves and pushes the DT flat to the ground?

Put your man on the ground, preferably on his back, then pretty much lay on him and don't let him up. Maybe give him a noogie or two while you're there.

The wrong end of a Tequila bottle.
The most over-rated stat in football. I'd rather have a guy keep his first man away from the play, then release and go after someone else down field. I read a good article on this very subject a while back and the writer brought up the stat that showed long runs from scrimmage and yards per carry are down in recent years. He attributed at least part of it to the ever increasing size of OLinemen and their lack of mobility down field making extra blocks. Sure linebackers being smaller and faster has something to do with it, but I think his point is valid.

Actually a picture perfect example of this would be what happened to Reggie Wells last year.

It was in one of the last 2 games, and some DE lifted poor Wells off his feet and flat onto his back.

Peace

Statistically speaking, any block that knocks an opposing player flat ("as a pancake") is considered a pancake block....

"Pancake Block" is what you're experiencing when you're trying to figure out what kind of flapjack to order and you can't remember?
