what are the expectations for the rest of the season? amare and z come back, can this team gel around those guys and start winning? can the suns get back to .500 and start winning again?

i think we will start playing more consistently with those guys back. some new offense and scoring will help. hopefuly amare can provide some defensive presense in the middle and get some exitement back into the team. the poblem is a 10 game hole in the west is like a 20 game hole in the east:)

I dont think we're talking about next season....

About this season...unlikely we'll reach .500 but we'll probably play around .500 ball when Amare/Zarko get back. Presumably Amare/Zarko will need some time to adjust back to the NBA so we'll be dumping games in the meantime. Probably it will be 3-4 weeks from now before the Suns find any rythem. By that time we'll even be further in the hole.

It is far from impossible, but the Suns will have to play much, much better than have in recent years.

Currently their record is 11 - 20. In order to make 500 (41-41), they will need to win 30 games in the remaining 51. This would be 58.8%. Over the course of an entire season, that is the same rate as it would take to win 48 games.

Assuming the Suns played 500 over the next 18 games, that would put their record at 20 and 29 and leave 33 games. To make 500 for the season, the Suns would have to win 21 of the final 33 games, ie win 63.6% a rate that would win 52 games over an 82 game season.

Conclusion? Not likely but not impossible.
