If the Clippers decide not to match the Suns offer, who would we like to see BC go after for the center position???

realistically, via free agency or trade?

i would like to see them bring back scott williams. anyone who takes out malone should not have to worry about getting a job with this team. heck we should hold a party for him after all of our players that malone has taken out.

If we bring back Klein, part of the deal should be his beer-battered BBQ chicken be sold at AWA. That recipe would be worth at least the veteran minimum. Also, he would be required to give a 30-minute stand up routine at the end of each game (since he won't see any minutes on the floor, he should be fresh and full of it).

Sorry, Mihm would be a better trade under the cap room, but I do believe that we will make a good offer for Magloire..yes, he's an all-star, but if we offer Marion and a few others we could make this trade. Don't rule it out, look what happened in Miami and Orlando. You never know. Q- could put this to rest if he doesn't come to the Suns. Let's all cross our fingers and hopes he comes here and the Clipps decide to go elsewhere.

Sorry for being a Troll...I may rename my Handle.

I guess you think the Hornets would want Marion because they're trying to replace Mashburn. That may be, but they surely won't take on another highly paid SF when Mashburn still has three years left on his contract. They need to have a plan in place for moving Mashburn first (or as part of the same trade).

How do you propose that will happen?

I don't have a proposal yet, I need to look at the salaries...but I would believe that potentially 3 teams could be involved in the trade...Toronto, Boston and the Suns...several options considering V. Carter and Ainge loves Marion. I don't know how it would work.

Boston has a messy roster with too many prospects (which I've described elsewhere). The key to the Celtics is to determine who to keep and who to dump. Here's what I think they are looking at:

C - Blount, Perkins, Mihm
PF - LaFrentz, Jefferson, Stewart
SF - Pierce, McCarty, Jones
SG - Davis, Welsch, Allen, West
PG - Atkins, Banks

I honestly don't see how Marion would fit onto this team. Pierce could play SG I suppose, but that would clog up an already overloaded position and push Davis even further down the depth chart.

Davis put up decent numbers for the Celtics at 14.1 ppg in 29.4 minutes while shooting 48.8% from the field and 38.8% for three along with 4.2 rpg. Welsch also played a lot, 26.9 minutes a game: 9.2 ppg, 42.8% and 3.7 rpg.

Realistically, if LaFrentz is healthy, this team will make the playoffs in the East easily. They are a long way from being a title contender, but I'm not sure getting Marion would change that.

Is it too late to go after Etan Thomas. (I've been off on vacation for the last couple of weeks so I'm not up to date on signings. By the way, what happened with Dice? Did someone give him big bucks or did the Suns just fumble him away again?)

Milwaukee for the MLE while Skinner went to the Sixers. Both are RFA's, so they may not stick.

If you really want it, Marion for Davis + Stewart + Jones may work out fine for them.

Davis might be talent-wise a better fit for the Suns than for the Celtics. Stewart is in last year of his contract I believe, and maybe motivated to regain his form in 'contract' year. He used to be a very good shot blocker. With Traylor for the min. we have

Jake/Lampe/Trailor/Steward
Amare/Vroman/Zarko
JJ/Davis/Jones
Q/CJ
Nash/Barbosa/Eisley

Q and Davis are both dynamic scorers and very good rebounders. If they can play defense like the Pistons, we are fine.

Detroit gave him the MLE, for something like four years I think. The Suns hardly "fumbled him away." They had better things to do with their money.

It would take me a while to get used to Mihm in a Suns uniform. He's probably what the team needs on offense, but his rep is that he's Charmin-soft...I'll have to trust the Suns on that one, if they get him.

There isn't a center left in FA (besides Dampier) who's worth even close to the MLE. Even if the Clips match, I'd rather feed from the bottom with Przybilla or Traylor and use the rest of the cap space elsewhere.

I'm thinking the Suns might pick up Przybilla for a minimum contract even if they were to got Mihm. Przybilla is a physical defender with minimal offensive skills while Mihm is a smooth offensive player with limited defensive skills.

Assuming the 'Charmin soft' description of Mihm is reasonably accurate there is no point in getting him - in fact, from the point of view of developing Lampe it would be counter productive. Maciej is going to need lots of PT to make any progress defensively since the team doesn't have any strength in the paint for him to practice against.

It is hard for me to think that Przybilla might actually be a good pickup. I really am losing my mind.

I still think the Suns should look down a few rosters and find some undervalued big men. I'd rather have a big shot blocker with stone hands.

Some guys I think could be had with some negotiating:

- Brendan Haywood, Washington ($1.75 mil/$2.4 mil/RFA)
- Jerome James, Seattle ($4.5 mil, last year of contract)
- Chris Bosh, Toronto ($3.1 mil/$3.3 mil/$4.5 mil-option)

For the price, would these guys not be worth adding to a three-headed rotation with Voshkul and Lampe?

Chris Bosh may be the best player on the Raptors (and that includes Carter), so there is no way they will trade him away.

James could be had, but he is a classic underachiever. In any case, I cannot construct a scenerio that makes sense. He has only one year left on his contract and the Sonics are under the luxury tax limit.

Haywood is another underachiever, but this is on a team that traded away Laettner and may lose Etan Thomas if the Wizzards don't match.

Chris Bosh?! Yeah, right. He's about as untouchable as anyone in the league right now. He's the future in Toronto. There are not many players in the league they'd trade Bosh for. Maybe Amare...

Yeah, I obviously haven't paid attention to his career. I didn't realize he was so highly valued.

His career? He was drafted #4 last year. He played very well for stretches of the season, and oozes potential. Hardly a career yet
