Heart & hustle player. Dynamic on special teams and adequate as an LB backup. Dominant player at Ap State with a great motor. The kind of hard worker who’s an asset in the locker room and on the practice field. Always gives his best.
I think he is the replacement of krys Barnes

maybe its just me reading into it. But this tells you all you need to know from the franchise's mouthpiece.

It’s not hard to read between the lines of the Mouth Of Sauron’s words if you’ve been reading him for long enough.

We just went cheap and downgraded at the position that calls the entire defense.

I can’t wait to hear how much cap flexibility this gives us and how he might be another Mack Wilson (who overachieved but was still just an okay LBer).

The middle of this defense is so freaking weak. But hopefully Monti can draft a first rounder that will underachieve next year at DT to continue the trend.

Two steps forward, one step back. Can just never build on top of what’s already there.

He will be 28 early next season, and he has started 11 games in his career. He seems like a solid addition to the team. I just hope Monti doesn't do his smartest guy in the room thing and try to make him more than he is. In an offseason where off-ball linebackers are finally being valued again, I would hate to see us cheap out with Wilson and this dude as the starters. Both are probably fine players, but neither of them should be the main guy in the middle.

This is a repeat of the Mack Wilson signing last year. Part time role player with flashes, versatile in that he can play off ball or edge. Mac Wilson has been good, don't be surprised to see the same here. Just watched some of him from last year and looks a good player.

I'd expect Mack to go to Mike and ADG to play Will. Probably also draft a LB. I'd expect Mack Wilson to get a pay bump too considering he's only on $4.25m per.

So you feel we have found the White replacement? That he's just as good or better?

Yes, he's equivalent of White. Not sure how many times I have to point out how vastly overrated White was. The only reason people think White is good is because he played for a good Eagles team for a season, but he was average there and they let him move on after a 1 year $3m deal, before that he was a very average role player for the Chargers with 1 season as a starter.

Mack Wilson was the better linebacker last year and we had the usual hand wringing about that signing. So maybe give it a chance before despairing like you did with him and Froholdt?

Y'all complained that White was a leader, a great locker room guy etc and that would be missed, well ADG is that too. We replaced one good character average linebacker with another good character average linebacker.

I also said I expect them to draft a linebacker, likely fairly high. I would suspect ADG is the placeholder for a draft pick.

We are not going to get excited about every player that is signed in free agency like we are about Sweat. Monti is filling out the roster with players that he and Gannon feel fit the culture that they are building and obviously they feel ADG is that type of player. Bottom line for me is that our Board football guru "Harry" likes him.

Thank you for confirming what everyone on here already knows: When the team makes a move, it's a good one to you. Funny enough, he wasn't one of the guys you were listing as a good replacement for White...until he was signed.

Also, you "pointing out" anything on White is simply you crying that your opinion is fact. It's not. You are in the minority that think he's trash. You're allowed to be heinously wrong. See? You're not the only one who can throw out wild claims.

If this guy's the new starter, Monti is sucking hind tit.
it's just annoying that this team continually looks for "the diamond in the rough" instead of diamonds... or even any other kind of gem, always consistently trying to squeeze a diamond out of coal.

and for those of you who are going to say they've found some pretty good ones so far, a 4-13/8-9 record flies in the face of that argument. They have money to spend, even overspend a little here and there. But ultimately, a leopard can't change it's spots.

Is this a good replacement?

Not saying White was a great player but he seemed to be a good leader that held players accountable.

We don't know and can't possibly know based on limited data. Other than a few nice comments on how he played the last 7 games last year.

He’s actually a better player imo than White I liked him coming out of college. Imo an upgrade
Hasn’t been able to translate App State performance to NFL. Has tools but speed/power combo in NFL has left him better at special teams. He’s an attitude & depth addition, but I can’t see him as a 17 game starter.

Looking into it more, Davis-Gaither played nearly every snap at MLB over the Bengals' final six games after Logan Wilson went down. Plus, his contract is nearly identical to White's over the past two years.Would be surprised if he's not the every-snap starter.

Will be interesting whether the Cardinals see Davis-Gaither as Kyzir White's replacement. He only played 47% of snaps this year, whereas White played nearly 100%.But graded much better in coverage than White.
