As I put my depth chart together, certain things are coming together on the O-Line as I see it. My guess is that Kendall will stay at C (although,at one point, I thought he might be moved back to G). Stephanovich will be groomed over the course of this season with the view of filling in eventually for Kendall). I'm assuming Frank Garcia is the other roster player at C.

We'll go into camp with L. Davis as a lock at LG. If Walter Mitchell is right, Reggie Wells might be moved from a T position to RG (6'4" and 325 lbs.) and could become a solid player at that position. That would leave the following fighting it out for back up status: C. Spikes; R.Roundtree; T. Wragge; S. Grace and Neil Leckey (who likely ends up on the PS).

Of Spikes; Roundtree, Wragge and Grace who gets cut?

Wragge and Grace are gone, I think. Although the PS could be home for one of them...

Did you mean "You forgot to mentioned L. Davis' cousin" or "You forgot to mentioned L. Davis, cousin"? (as in You forgot to mentioned L. Davis, man") Because he did mention L. Davis, but did not mention his cousin. Who is his cousin, and he's in the Cards' camp?

 We sign a Tackle last year who is related to Davis. I forgot his name.

We will most likely keep 9 to 10 olinemen which means that 3 of the guys on the roster right now are gone. Leckey can be the 3rd string C and depth at Gaurd so with Kendall and Step as the other C's all of the other C's on the roster are gone. So the 3 OLinemen that are gone IMO are C - Garcia, C - Grace, and G - Wragge.

Seems to me determining who starts, who stays and who goes will be resolved at Camp. Trying to figure this out this early in post season is really hard - particularly since we have new coaches and can't know yet how each player will respond to new coaches, different techniques etc.

I'm kind of concerned about the entire right side. Clement sucked last year if he looks crappy in the offseason I don't see him starting. I think there are question marks at RG and RT.

Yeah someone needs to light a fire under AC.

Step makes it because of his ability to play multiple positions.

Roundtree makes it probably on experience as well as Spike.

Leckey-Garcia-Wragge-Grace get cut or put on the PS. The PS will be bigger this year so 2 of them may make it.

That's what will happen.

Step and Leckey are the new b/u centers.

Wells indeed could emgerge as the new RG.

If that doesn't work and they're not satisfied with either Wells or Spikes than and interior of Kendall - LG, Stepanovich - C and Davis - RG might be to the teams best advantage.

So why are we talking about him being a lock for RG when he has been moved to the left side?

Thats what I get for browsing the thread, rather than reading it.

I believe tthat Big is now at LG.

Clement was pretty bad last year. It seems like he gave up a lot of sacks, and his run blocking was average. Sometimes he and Big would "roadgrade" the entire left side of the opposing defensive line, but it didn't happen often enough.

Could we give spikes a shot a RT? I seem to think more of his 2003 performance than anybody else!

Clement gave up 6 sacks which is average for a tackle. Just to put it into prespective Orlando Pace gave up 4 and Shelton gave up 3.5 sacks. But he did get pushed around when run blocking.

As for Spikes at RT that would be a really bad idea. Moving a olinemen from OT to OG is an easy switch but moving a OG to OT turns out bad 75% of the time, especially when that player is marginal in the first place.

Thats a bad idea. There's a reason why he's a guard. To put him in island, he will be eaten alive by pass rushers.

Going into Camp OL
Shelton, Davis, Kendall, Spikes, Clement

Green likes to have an OL of 4 tackles and a Center.
Shelton, Davis, and Kendall will start somewhere on the OL except for injury.
Spikes and Clement are less secure.

Backups are
Wells, Rogers at T
Roundtree, Wragge, Leckey, at G
Garcia, Stepanovich, Grace at C

Roundtree can play T(played for Clement in 2002)
Garcia, Stepanovich, Leckey can play both C and G.

I am making an assumption that 9 will make the final roster and one or two will make the expanded PS.

Grace will have a tough time making the team due to being worn down by playing in NFL Europe. He also has additional risk of injury because of no off-season. He also has not been on hand to learn the new system.

I also see Garcia being at risk due to the drafting of Stepanovich and Leckey.
However, I do see Green keeping at least one experienced backup in the OL between Roundtree, Garcia, and Spikes.

I believe at least one and maybe both Stepanovich and Leckey(most likely Leckey) will be on the practice squad.

Roundtree needs to show that he is fully recovered from his surgery of last year in order to make this team. He is on the outside looking in behind Spikes and Garcia.

Rogers seems to be an afterthought. Unless he shows something special in the preseason he is probably gone.

Okay, I know most of you don't care but Reggie Wells was working exclusively at RG in the minicamps until Kendrick Rogers got hurt.

The Cards like Wells' quick feet but think his arms are too short to play tackle. His future is at guard.
