Not really knowing my Captain America stuff, I thought Winter Soldier would be a reference to a spy "coming in from the cold" or refused to give up his current mission.

As a Captain America aficionado, I can says there's a great deal to take away from the trailer beyond the meaning of "Winter Soldier".

They are calling this the best Marvel movie yet. I find that hard to believe since I love love love the Avengers but I can't wait to see it.

if you don't like comic book movies, I get it, but this is pretty damn awesome. action on a grand scale to go along with a really solid story.

the elevator scene was awesome.

Really good movie. It was less of a superhero flick and more of a spy flick that just happened to involve superheroes.

So good! Not at all like the other Marvel movies. Bring on Guardians of the Galaxy!

Superior to the 1st in just about every single way. Surprised by this. Is very rare I like the sequel more versus the original but this is absolutely the case. I don't think it was as good as Avengers but it was damn close. Really two different movies. This is more of a story that related to modern day gray lines and an espionage story of sorts.

Bravo!

This movie was really good. No complaints about this it was really well done.

My problem is more with the Marvel universe in general... The only problem I have with this and the other individual Marvel movies is that when they are on their own in their own movies and the WORLD is in PERIL, where are the rest of the avengers?

I realize it's just an Ironman or a Captain America or a Thor movie, but there keeps being these situations where the world is literally on the brink of cataclysm and the hero, in this case Captain America, is having a very hard time handling it on his own and I cant help but think, Ya now would be a good time for Thor, or Ironman or Hulk to show up and lend a hand. I mean the fate of the world is hanging in the balance. Thor makes a special trip down to earth when Natalie Portman is in danger, but he cant be bothered by the rest of the world! lol

It's fine Steve, you got this, we're busy...

That is the problem when you combine universes like in the Avengers and then try to go back to individual movies. They could atleast offer a brief explanation why the other superheroes dont show up when the world is about to be destroyed or 20million people are about to be exterminated. lol

Good point but this same issue has always existed with hero movies and comics alike. Many of these are in the same "verse" but majority of the time they don't really explain. Yes it would be nice but the way I see it, all these hero's have their own battles with their own villains in their own cities. We only get to see "some" of the stories. I think that is the MO that we are all supposed to follow even if it's only implied.

By the way, this movie has direct impacts to Marvel's Agents of Shield. I know the new trailer, mentions the movie and adds the tagline "Uprising". However, there has to be more to it than that considering in the movie they say Shield is no more. Well....that kind of impacts the show.

My guess is they are alluding to Shield Secret Avengers. Sharon Carter was introduced in the movie who is also called Agent 13 in that comic continuity. So, my guess is that on the show, SHIELD becomes something along that storyline without government oversight. In essence an independent black ops version of itself.

P.S. For those that might not have caught it. When Cap and Black Widow are at the mall.....there is a quick 2 second scene with this guy coming down the escalator in a Captain America shirt holding a little boys hand. I believe that was Joss Whedon. It looked like it to me.

Well said Darren, I can accept that. I never read comics so I'm not used to the formula I guess. (not saying anything bad about comics, in fact all these awesome superhero movies and TV shows over the past few years make me constantly wish I had read comics when I was younger. I'd almost like to read a few now, but I wouldn't even know where to start.)

yeah, with these movies, I think you just have to throw that whole thing out the window. Felt the same way in Iron Man 3 when the president is hanging from the rafters about to get blown up and everyone thinks Iron Man's DEAD and...um...where's Captain America to save him?!

but you gotta just throw that away into the back of your mind and let it go for the purposes of the stand alone films.

Spoilerish stuff to follow:

Yeah, so the big issue in this movie involves a helicarrier, literally a flying fortress. Which Avenger is least equipped to take that on? Hawkeye and Hulk already did their part to trash one in the Avengers. Ironman and Thor could at least fly to get up there.

Instead, let's give this mission to Cap and Black Widow, because their non-flying skill sets totally make them the ideal heroes to take on this flying menace.

I guess the whole "who can you trust" plot devise could explain away why Cap didn't reach out to his other super buddies? I guess??? Maybe???

man...if they even tried to trot out that rationale, it would be a stretch of armstrong proportions, considering he just saved the world with those guys...and Stark never really seemed to trust SHIELD...and hell, neither did any of the others except Widow for that matter.

the reality is that it's just a ginormous plot hole...one that's too big to really even discuss/dissect.

still loved the crap out of the movie though.
