I love that a lot of you are not giving this team a chance to win. That only helps our chances for surprising win, since we can not win any other way.

likely with us entering the fourth down 20-7. Does anyone else realize how horrendous the offense has been in the first three quarters with Warner as the starter the past two years? Save the opening day Niners game, in his starts we've entered the fourth quarter with 3 (Bucs), 7(Skins), 10(Chargers), 3(Falcons), 7 (St. Louis), and 3 (Seahawks) points from the offense. That's an average of 6.5 points thru 3 quarters.
One word: Turnovers!!

Its not that he cannot run the offense, he was putting the ball on the ground too much and then also was throwing picks. That was the main reason he was benched last season in the first place. I think he fumbled what 10 times or so in the first three games of last year. And several times when we have marched down the field near or in the read zone. That's why he shows up with a lot of yards but not too many points.

Cards lead by 6 with 3:00 to go but Warner fumbles the snap while trying to run out the clock. Detroit then scores on a 1 yard TD run with 2:00 left after Eric Green can't recover a Lions fumble in the end zone. Cards look like they will come back and win it though as Warner quickly drives them downfield in the 2:00 minute offense. However, Fitzgerald inexplicably steps out of bounds after catching a wide open pass resulting in Rackers missing a potential game winning field goal.

The anti-curse is back. Long live jrein.

5:13 td to touchdown ratio in his last five games as starter. even if you add in the Niners game, it's 8:14. He gets his yards in the 4th, when we're down big and the defense is giving up yards to keep the clock moving. Guys a turnover machine.

Still talk via email with jrein once in a while. He had a great tailgate in the parking garage at sds.

His claim to fame was that he almost crushed Gollin after the Dallas game in '97 with a celebratory bear hug.

dude was a flash in the pan and maybe if he didn't have injuries/get his bell rung as many times, he would have continued doing what he did those first 2 of 3 years in St. Louis, but this isn't something new. Since 2001, I believe his TD:Turnover ratio is something like 30:53. If that trend continues this week, I see no reason why not to at least try and see if Rattay could be any better.

Lets see,

A one armed QB,
Turnovers handed out like Halloween candy,
and more penalties than a 202 speeding camera can hand out.

In the world of the Cardinals this can only mean one thing

VICTORY

THe plan?
Blitz Adrian early to create a TO or two
and sweeps pitches and screens to JJ to stay outside of their front four.

prediction

37-21 Cardinals.

I'm a big fan, but I don't usually drink the kool-aid. But, there is something about this game that screams we don't know whats going on in the Detroit lockeroom. I think we finally pull out some good turn overs and protect the ball a bit better. Detroit burns us on some long pass plays, but Fitz and Boldin are finally the primary receivers (less of Pope and Urban) and we march up and down field on those turn overs most of the day.

I hope.

This is true.

What many of us overlooked in advance of the Lion game were the matchups.

Our Front Seven so totally dominated the Lion pass blockers that Kitna had no time do do anything.

Plus - the lack of Detroit FB and TE receiving options plus Kitna's lack of mobility made it easier for our safeties and LB's to focus on stopping Jones, putting pressure on Kitna and covering receivers.

Also overlooked - (a) that Breaston would have a huge return game, (b) that the entire defense would bring its A-Game and (c) that Barr would drop two punts inside the Detroit 12 to pin the Lions deep in their own part of the field at a crucial point in the game.
