Well there is one way to look at this - we’re due to hit on quite a few since that fiasco, but I won’t hold my breath

I think Boehm could have developed if we gave him more than a spit bucket of effort.
Also, give a bit of Keim credit for our 2nd round pick, who is Chandler Jones, if nothing else.

If Nkdemiche would have hit, it would be a typical class.

I think three years is the right time to look back at a draft class. The wheat has separated from the chaff by then. If we look at 2017 at this point:

Haason Reddick: Physical talent but has been a man without a position. Played DE in college, and was asked to come in and play ILB, then OLB, then ILB, and now back to OLB in his tenure here. He's undersized for the edge and has slow instincts in coverage. We didn't do him right, but he's underperformed soundly so far.

Budda Baker: Star DB in college, and has flashed dominance at times here. Also a tweener without a clear role at either safety. He's a nickel safety who is frankly a very good one. One of our few pro bowlers in recent years.

Chad Williams: Screwball pick for the third round. Fast and strong, but otherwise had collegiate level skill. Made the team because he was a recent draft pick.

Dorian Johnson: I loved this pick at the time, he was a dominant interior lineman which we needed badly and was a steal. Never picked up his game, wasn't strong enough, had health issues, and went full Buster Davis and didn't make it out of training camp.

Will Holden: Late round OT who came in and was thrust immediately into service when our whole line went down again. Performed reasonably for a rook, had a shot in the following year but is basically a journeyman who didn't latch on.

TJ Logan: Wideout and KR who got injured and was caught in the bottom of the roster churn in the coming year or two.

Rudy Ford: Also injured early, never earned a hook into the roster though he played well in his few opportunities.

The draft looked reasonable at the time. Baker is a winner, and again if Reddick would have hit it would be a typical draft. The consecutive year failures of first round picks makes the team have to overpay in FA and perform with contemptuous mediocrity every year. 2015 was a winning class. 2014 was so so. 2018 gave us Rosen, but the other guys have stuck and played. 2019 was Kyler and the TBD wideouts.

2020 hindsight reality says that is a hard F

Unless you rate the draft like many are rated this year's draft, and including the players obtained for the draft picks, then it becomes at least a C

The Second Round Pick was great and still on the team :)

No, the 2nd round pick from 2016 and the 1st round pick from 2013 were traded for another player. Not the same as picking a guy and having him work out for your team, IMHO. Technically, our 2nd round pick went to the Patriots who then traded it to the Saints and they drafted a safety who now plays for the Bengals.
