Love it.

Arians again runs the noodle leg over with the bus:

"Jay is an unrestricted free agent, so it will be all business from here on out," Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said after the season when asked about how he felt about Feely moving forward. "I love Jay to death. He was a captain. Wish he would have kicked that last kickoff down the middle."

So lets go over this issues:

Can't do touchbacks
Can't do onside
Can't directionally kick on kickoffs
Doesn't have the leg to even try for kicks in a dome on grass from 52 yards.
Had multiple misses inside the 40.

So yeah...anything is better than Feely.

You realize he kicked for the Lions in preseason, went 3-3 including a kick from 50.

Good for him it's pre season was not impressive enough to beat out an extremely struggling veteran who just came off the worst year In his career.

Feely's inability to kick an on-side was also an issue.

Do you have anything to back this up? Such as his % of successful ones while in AZ and how many chances at them he's had?

I think it is just the idea of hiring a guy who has never played football which did not get him the job when he tried out for the Lions... but you know what? Who freaking cares because kicking a dang field goal is not blocking, running, tackling passing or catching a football. Preseason is just as good a regular season to judge because what is different for the guy in regular season, is the air going to change around his leg or something lol. Seriously, it is pretty freaking simple to judge. If he can kick it between the uprights, then he can do the job. As far as pressure, that is a personal thing which has nothing to do with whether he has played the game or not. The fact he has spent so much time practicing and boldly attempting to play the sport speaks for itself. I say good move and who knows

I'm not a fan of "kick-a-who" either, but Feely's entire stat's as a kicker here isn't what I care about. It's last years stats. And last year he was not a very good kicker. VERY few kickers have the luxury of having an off-year.

I don't know if this dude is NFL legit or not. But this club is legit, and they can evaluate some legit.Their search for talent extends FA and the draft, if any of the "futures" or Norweedjins actually help this team, it's just awesome. As far as Harvard goes, that dude has real physical skills and talent. How it would translate to the NFL is unkown, aside from a small yet tasty sample. Confidence is every thing when you wear leg warmers, that takes some serious confidence.

Dude is NFL legit, Shane will change his tune or won't, who cares. Guy will make FGs and if he doesn't, I will be on his ass.

He's got massive leg, confidence like crazy, kicked well in preseason already once, and is a great potential replacement for Feely, who absolutely HAS to be gone.

Kickers, dime a dozen. Really good kickers..dime a half dozen.

I love the idea of kickalicious...and if he fails to make it, oh well, bring on the next dude I'll be yelling "raaaaaaaaackers" at.

Just scout and draft a good kicker in round 5-7. If you get a good one, he's around for 12 years and you don't have to worry about it anymore. If he flames out, so what, most late round picks do anyway.

So what? If he flames out, we lose games.

I like the fact they are looking at him now. Signing this guy could save 1m+ in cap space per year and give the Cardinals an entire offseason to work with him.

Feeley will be 38 before the season starts and if he can't kick it through the endzone at 37, he certainly wont at 38.

I still think the guy could come up with some amazing onside attempts, if nothing else.

"The Kickalicious boomerang" it would go 10+ yards, then curl back to our hands team. lol

Yes; however, he failed to make the Lions's roster, and only had one other tryout before the beginning of the season with the Packers. With kickers coming and going throughout the middle of the season (eg. Saints), he did not get any offers to kick for another team, let alone tryout, until now.

I'm not saying he isn't NFL ready, but rather, I think he only gets this much publicity because he was an internet sensation. If YouTube sensations would translate into successful professional athletes, that one QB who could throw through windows would be starting somewhere, or those guys who could make baskets from rooftops would be 3-point assassins in the NBA.

If he flames out, which would likely be in the pre-season, you bring in a street free agent, like the guy in this thread. Dan Carpenter tried out for about 3-4 teams before he stuck. He's every bit as good, if not better, than Feely.

NE drafted a kicker in Gostkowski, GB with Crosby, the Rams with Zeurelein as guys who immediately come to mind.
