Keiser is one of the guys I hoped we could get. He's looked great in the last couple of preseason games he's played against us. I think he's an upgrade over Bernard.

Edit: I just read the story about his legal trouble. Now I'm far less excited about this signing. We already have too many LBs with impulse control problems.

It looks like the LB position will be in flux just like last year's WR position - bring in a new body every week til you find a keeper.

I honestly think Carson will stand out this year, if he gets playing time.

Here is the original story on Keiser's fight:

http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb...o-gets-probation-207712.html?highlight=keiser

The night of December 29, after the San Diego Chargers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs to a playoff spot, Chargers linebacker Thomas Keiser went to a local bar called Barleymash with another man who was allegedly a relative. It was there that he got drunk, grabbed a Barleymash employee, threw him to the floor and punched him repeatedly.

Keiser was charged with misdemeanor battery. He posted bail for $8,000. On March 24, Keiser pled guilty in a plea deal and was sentenced to a fine, probation, and 20 hours of anger management counseling.

Damn... Sounds like a great guy!

Meanwhile, half of the board continues to slam the Niners for the bad guys on their team, but folks, we've got more then our fair share (as does every team in the league)

We can use all the help we can get at OLB. If he can put pressure on the QB and his troubles don't get him suspended this might work for us.

The bad news was that he punched a bar employee repeatedly. The good news was that the employee was a guy. (smiley face)

We can actually still blame the 49ers because Keiser played at Stanford and was recruited by Harbaugh.

I have no idea if he's a good guy or not, Stanford has their share of screwups too.

Quite honestly it goes with the NFL, the amount of PED and prescription drug abuse, and alcohol abuse, is rampant in the NFL. It's not all that surprising that this problem persists. It's why I feel the NFL is going to have such a hard time with cleaning up, if they TRULY clean up, many players are going to shrink 20 pounds.

That works for me. We could really use some help so I was looking for a solid rationalization for bringing in a (possibly) raging lunatic.

We now have 11 LBs. And 8 DBs. One of those DBs is TM, whose health is questionable. One is Bucannon, who (in nickel situations) plays... cover LB. So, if TM doesn't play next week, we essentially go into the game with 12 LBs and 6 DBs. This is beyond ridiculous.

Beautifully put into perspective, Vermont.
