Montini, as well as the guy in the article, are clowns. If this guy was such a fan, he would have bought tickets at least last season to ensure he would get seats in the new stadium. Idiots!

What a complete BS article. Way to go Montini. The Steelers fan that can no longer buy tickets on gameday once every few years to cheer against the Cards really needs a full column in the Republic. What frickin garbage.

Here are the real facts. If this idiot hadn't sat on hands he could have bought season tix for $10 or $25 dollars a game. Those tickets didn't sell out until May or June. Now that the door has suddenly been slammed in the Steelers fan's face because he essentially thought he'd always have a free pass here. So what?

The steelers don't charge anything to get on their waiting list. Again I'd ask so what? How long is that list? How many years on average would anyone have to wait to get Season Tickets for the Steelers. Five? Ten? Clearly no one is going to lay down any money to get on a list that long and there wouldn't be any reasonable chance to get single game tickets if you aren't way up on that list.

So the Cards are trying to make a few bucks off the Cardinal haters that want in the cheer against our team. I, for one, am all for it. Fact is, if this guy was a legitimate Cards fans he'd already have his tickets. If the Cards can think of a way to inject any further misery in this guys life, I hope they do.

Do I read that correctly, you pay $200 per ticket that you want to be on the waiting list for. And it's non refundable? Is he saying if I put down 200 bucks for 4 games(800 total) and I wind up not getting any of those games, I'm still out the 800 bucks?

I believe it rolls over until you actually get the opportunity to purchase season tickets. The only case in which you wouldnt get your money applied to your tickets, is if you decided after a year or two of waiting that you didnt want tickets anymore (ie fell off the bandwagon).

so let me get this straight... this guy is a "perfect" cardinals fans and just now just realized there was a deposit required? BS!... in fact up until about March or so the deposit was just a flat $200 not even $200 per ticket as this article claims now. what a damn joke.

We also have some of the cheapest tickets in NFL.. So cheap another owner stated "I can't believe they under priced themselves" or something like that. Seems to me the Front office is making up the difference with this 200$ fee.

I chose not to be on the list for that reason but I certainly am not going to bitch about it.

No, those are season ticket waiting list fees. The same ones we payed for deposits this year. But if you are on the season ticket waiting list for next year..you get first dibs on single game tickets this year. so for every seat you pay $200 and if you dont get single game tix this year..it just goes towards the season tickets next year...which is the list you are on.

Not only that.... didn't he say AZ tax payers are helping pay for the stadium? Isn't that a crock of ****? I thought revenue was coming in through tourism $$$.

The article makes no sense. Talk about grasping at straws. The guy is the "perfect Cardinal fan?" Pulease. If he were any kind of Cardinal fan at all then he would have KNOWN the season tickets were going fast and his chances of getting in were diminishing.

Maybe that crappy paper should write a POSITIVE article about all the REAL Cards fans from outta town who got season tickets this year to ensure that they'd be guaranteed a seat in the new stadium on opening day. Morons.

Time for an email blitz.

Already done:

I don't usually respond to reporters, but I just had to send you a quick note. Do you really expect Cardinals fans to feel sorry that the stadium won't be invaded this year by fans of the opposing team? If this guy was the perfect Cardinals fan like you say he is, then why didn't he know that season tickets were close to selling out?

I live in New Jersey and have been a Cardinals fan since they moved the team to AZ. I bought season tickets this year because I want to guarantee my seat at the home opener in the new stadium. How did I know that I might get locked out of getting a single game ticket this year? Because I am a real fan and I actually PAY ATTENTION. You may find it odd, but I'm not the only Cards fan from outside of AZ who has season tickets this year.

Will I make it to all the games? Obviously not, but I will make sure that, when I can't be there, that my seats go to another Cards fan. Or they'll go begging. Either way works for me.

I though the sports media in Philly and New York were bad. You guys in AZ really take the cake.

What a gay article . . . but I would agree that the Cards taking a $200 non-refundable deposit is probably not the greatest of all ideas. If the team has a great season, how long would that $200 sit before being applied?

A better way would be to guarantee all those who put $200 down that they will get the $200 applied to single game tickets to a Cards game this season. Simply apply the deposits to a game this year and stop taking deposits when the single game tickets run out. Cards should have the authority to dictate which tickets the waiting list people receive -- not necessarily the single game of their favorite team.

I guess I thought idea of having 3,000 single game tickets would allow 30,000 additional people to attend the 10 games by giving waiting list people one game each.

Chances are this guy has his facts wrong . . .

What an idiotic article. Green Bay fans leave season ticket rights in their will. Oakland fans have to pay 4 figure PSL licenses just for the right to buy tickets.

The first season that we have a sellout, some moron complains. There was plenty of opportunity to buy, and the Cards office was more than friendly when I went in to get my tickets.

What?
The Cards aren't confused at all. It's the opposing teams fans who no longer can walk in at half price by the thousands that are left with their heads spinning.
