I haven't read the article, and based on everyone's replies I don't really feel like I need to.
I do have a question though - are there figures released of how many people have actually signed up and paid the money to be on the waiting list?
I'm hoping we turn it around this year, but the O-Line is a HUGE question mark if you ask me, and I've been through too many its our year! to really allow myself to get lost in the hype until I see the team on the field. I think the Cardinals are pretty brilliant here, the "non refundable" list if it gains a lot of action is a big fail safe. If the Cards don't live up to expectations in 2006, the season ticket base is going to drop. The stadium will be a year old, so the excitement there will have dropped a little, the bandwagon will drop a bit, etc.
But all those people who have already dropped $400 for the rights to buy two seats aren't going to just lose the money they've already spent, they're going to spend the additional amount to buy the tickets next year. So the Cardinals have built in a bit of a bumper.
The Redskins on the other hand, don't charge to be on their waiting list. hell, I'm on their waiting list. I did it so I could sign up for some contests and stuff for free tickets, etc. There's no financial committment, so if I ever have my name come up, there's no reason for me to actually buy.
