. . . The team plays close attention

LOL! this loser can't even get his two bit column right.

I am glad the pear shaped "stillers" loser isn't going to be in our stadium next year. Yeah a "perfect Cardinals fan" is really going to bash his team by claiming that he has "put up with" our fake brand of football.

Montini is a clown and a homer and if he feels so bad for his poor hometown buddy than maybe he can buy him a ticket. Oh yeah that's right, he's not into giving his hard earned money away.

It seems to me the Cards could have just sold the remaining tickets out as season tickets instead of holding some back for single game sales; i interpret the team holding some tickets back as trying to be fan friendly. It's a good thing this Steeler clown doesnt live in Green Bay, where there is a list of 40,000 waiting for season tickets. They even have a policy for passing the tickets down in the family in the event of death, read it here.

Hey E.J. why dont you help your fellow steeler fan out and give him your press pass?

Edit: Whoops, should have read the other thread first :)

I'd like to point out a big fraud in his article and that is the Steelers "waiting list".

The Steelers "waiting list" is a big fat fraud. You have to have a PSL to purchase season tickets in Pittsburgh. PSL owners determine who gets season tickets, not the waiting list.

If you own a Steelers PSL and don't want to go to games anymore do you just stop buying ST's and let your PSL go back to the team? Hell no, you sell your PSL. Someone must die and not will their PSL to someone, or just fail to sell their PSL when they don't buy ST's for it to actually make it to someone on their "Waiting list".

That "waiting list" is a joke.

I haven't read the article, and based on everyone's replies I don't really feel like I need to.

I do have a question though - are there figures released of how many people have actually signed up and paid the money to be on the waiting list?

I'm hoping we turn it around this year, but the O-Line is a HUGE question mark if you ask me, and I've been through too many its our year! to really allow myself to get lost in the hype until I see the team on the field. I think the Cardinals are pretty brilliant here, the "non refundable" list if it gains a lot of action is a big fail safe. If the Cards don't live up to expectations in 2006, the season ticket base is going to drop. The stadium will be a year old, so the excitement there will have dropped a little, the bandwagon will drop a bit, etc.

But all those people who have already dropped $400 for the rights to buy two seats aren't going to just lose the money they've already spent, they're going to spend the additional amount to buy the tickets next year. So the Cardinals have built in a bit of a bumper.

The Redskins on the other hand, don't charge to be on their waiting list. hell, I'm on their waiting list. I did it so I could sign up for some contests and stuff for free tickets, etc. There's no financial committment, so if I ever have my name come up, there's no reason for me to actually buy.

That's kind of why I don't like it. They can have one really great offseason....stink it up in '06.....do nothing next offseason....stink it up in '07.......and ride the wave of Edge for 2 years.

It's brilliant......but not overly fair.

And, fwiw, I am really getting worried about this team. I need to see some action soon....maybe I'm overthinking things.

I hear you NEZ - I am not a fan of the idea of putting the money down either, and I definitely wouldn't participate in the program. I do think its a pretty good business move though. Besides, it gives the team that much more hard money in there pocket today instead of the possibility they have money later. Thats a big difference.

I'm a gambler, and I would think the odds that there are season tickets available next year even with the people on the waiting list is fairly high.

The other way it could work out, is that the door has actually shut, there won't be another good opportunity to get season tickets. If we become like Pittsburgh, Denver, KC, Detroit, most of the cities in the league, the deal will be that season tickets are almost impossible to get. If so, the cost of $200 bucks to get high up in the cue will seem like a huge bargain, because first, it goes towards the ticket anyway, but more important, everyone in line with you is someone that really wants season tickets and has made a commitment. If you really want to get in line you don't have to stand their with a bunch of clowns that just signed up, just in case they might want these tickets later. If I am a real Cardinals fan (hypothetically of course because in reality I am a bonafide Cards STH that never would have allowed this situation to happen to me anyway), that truly wanted these tickets, I'd be glad for the deposit. That way, if the tickets do become truly valuable you aren't standing behind a bunch of idiots that aren't truly dedicated Cards fans anyway.

It may be the case that the whole thing will crash to the ground and everyone can tickets anywhere, anytime they want. If so, the suckers gave the Cardinals a $200 interest free loan. But if we breakthrough this year, people may look back on the $200 deposit and say why in the hell didn't I do that? It could happen.

Bally’s Sports needs to go away
but..

This deposit is still small potatoes compared to most every other NFL team that sells out. These are problems that a team selling out will face. I say, bring em on.

Tickets will still be available, even if you have to buy them second hand. I'm more looking forward to the out of state travelers who arne't paying attention to what moves the Cards are making, make travel arrangements, hotel arrangements and only when they get here realize that there are no tickets to the game. Thats when the fun articles will fly.

Absolutely! Screw those opposing team fans. So sorry that opposing fans can't buy tickets this year ... that's pretty much standard for most teams in the NFL anyway!

Hell, my VP asked me if the Cards play the Eagles this year in the new stadium. I said, "No, but even if they did, I couldn't give you my tickets. You understand, yes?" This is the man who has bumped my salary by $25K in five years. He smiled, shook his head and said, "Yeah, I know, Cardinals fan."

My first game at SDS was in 1999. I was very much looking forward to having some kind of comraderie with other Cards fan and being "home," especially since I had only ever met one other Cards fan in Jersey. I encountered way too many Pats fans for my liking. I didn't like hearing all that ******** that day when the Cards lost, and I felt really bad for the fans who had to hear it every freaking Sunday. It was WRONG. I was pissed and left AZ angry.

For anyone, whether it be the media, other teams or any other group, to give this organization **** for what they are doing is absolutely moronic, unfair and pathetic. Make up your minds. Before people bitched that the Cardinals weren't doing enough to win and build a fan base. Now, they have Edge and Leinhart, they've extended contracts. they have a plan for any given Sunday AND they are trying to build upon the fan base in AZ. What the hell is the problem for these moronic reporters in the desert? Hell, I could do a better job following this team.

I hear ya Jersey. I'll never forget my first game at SDS at Christmas in 1990.

We were all excited about finally being able to go to a Cardinals home game (I'd been to games in Houston and Dallas) and having 50 yard line seats in the upper deck. ON THE EAST SIDE! As far as we could see on either side, above and below us, were Giants fans. What a thrill that was.

I really hope the parade of opposing fans through our home stadium is over.
Though it was fun watching the dvl give 'em hell.

I don't get the big deal about waiting lists in AZ or in PIT or GB or anywhere else. If you REALLY want to go to a game, you go to a scalper. It really is that simple.
