90-100 Elite Player
80-89 Outstanding Player
70-79 Good Starter
60-69 Average Starter
50-59 Good Backup
40-49 Below Average Backup/Core ST Player

2010 Cardinals' FAs and Acquisitions (With Scouts Inc. Rankings):

1. 80-Kerry Rhodes, S
2. 76-Alan Faneca, G
3. 75-Steve Breaston, WR
4. 74-Rex Hadnot,G
5. 73-Joey Porter, OLB
6. 65-Jay Feely, K
7. 64-Lyle Sendlein, C
8. 64-Gabe Watson, NT
9. 63-Derek Anderson, QB
10. 63-Hamza Abdullah, S
11. 63-Jeremy Bridges, G/T
12. 62-Bryan Robinson, NT
13. 59-Justin Miller, CB/KR
14. 58-Stephen Spach, TE
15. 57-Paris Lenon, LB
16. 57-Anthony Becht, TE
17. 54-Ben Patrick, TE
18. 49-Charles Ali, FB
19. 48-Matt Ware, S
20. 48-Monty Beisel, LB

The surprises here are Watson rated higher than Robinson, Abdullah rated much higher than Ware, Spach rated highest of the TEs over Becht and Patrick. I wouldn't agree with any of those assessments. I also feel as if Faneca, Breaston, Porter, Feely and Sendlein deserve higher grades.

Notable UFAs Still Available:

65-Flozell Adams, T
59-Dre Bly, CB
78-Keith Bulluck, LB
68-Kevin Curtis, WR
65-Jeremi Johnson, FB
57-Ty Law, CB
75-Leonard Little, DE
58-Ken Lucas, CB
69-Kevin Mawae, C
72-Adewale Ogunleye, DE
78-Antonio Pierce, LB
74-Chester Pitts, G
62-Ian Scott, NT
78-Paul Spicer, DE
69-DeShea Townsend, CB
68-Keydrick Vincent, G
79-Brian Westbrook, RB

The one bolded in RED are the ones I am interested in. How about you?

Of the CBs here, I like Bly and Townsend the best. I'd love to have Leonard Little take Bertrand berry's role as situational DE in the 4 man rush opposite Joey Porter. If Kevin Curtis is back to full health, I'd like him as one of our 5 WR options. Adding Keith Bullock or Antonio Pierce
(if and when healthy) would be a significant upgrade at LB.

Scouts Inc. 2010 Draft Player Ratings:

90-100 Rare Prospect
80-89 Outstanding Prospect
70-79 Solid
60-69 Good
50-59 Adequate
21-49 Borderline

Cardinals' 2010 Draft (With Scouts Inc. Rankings):

93-Dan Williams, NT
90-Daryl Washington, LB
74-Andre Roberts, WR
50-John Skelton, QB
48-O'Brien Schofield, LB
30-Jorrick Calvin, CB
30-Jim Dray, TE

Interesting to see that they have both Williams and Washington rated as "rare prospects." If they are, the Cardinals are going to be very special on defense in the next few years. Roberts deserves a higher grade, as do Skelton and Schofield, based on talent and potential.

What do you think of RB Harvey Unga (6-0, 240) of BYU? Man, I think he'd be a great fit in our offense as an all-purpose FB/RB. Love his versatility and his mix of power and speed...has very good feet and exceptional hands. Probably would have to take a 2nd or 3rd rounder for the Cardinals to get him in the Supplemental Draft July 15th (some already think Unga will go middle to late 3rd, early 4th). Wonder what his college QB Max Hall would think of that. What do you think?

I rather spend the rest of my life with my feet in hot coals then sign Leonard Little.

Besides that, it is very interesting.

Hey Mitch, what ranking did Scouts give Rolle? I seem to remember Williamson at scouts telling Sando that he thought losing Rolle was much bigger than gaining Rhodes...

20 teams will be at Unga's pro day. I hope we are one of them and think about at least trying a 6th or 7th rounder. Wont hurt to try. I think he could be a just as athletic but more bruising Larry Centers. Unga has very soft hands. Not sure why they stopped throwing him the ball last year. Another guy in the supp draft I also think can be the next Larry Centers is Truman States Vaness Emokpae. He was actually their starting offense. Played RB, FB, WR, TE, H-Back, QB, Punted his junior year, returns kickoffs. Multi talented solid built 240 pounder I think Wiz could try making into the H-Back he may have been searching for since he got here. Wouldn't send a pick for him but if he goes undrafted I would be the first team in his ear to get him here. There is also a 300+ pound DT in the Supp Draft with a ton of potential but comes with a ton of baggage to go with it.

Ken Lucas still sucks.

Townsend I am very much so on board with.

Bullock is a WILB so he still wouldnt fix the SILB spot but he would make Lenon no longer needed which is just fine with me, and would be a great mentor for Washington(if he is healthy of course which I dont think he ever will be)

Peirce is in the same boat as Hayes, disc problems. Just like Hayes he "might" never be able to be counted on. Having those two split plays wouldn't be a bad idea because of that.

I think Ogun is the interesting, way more of a Berry clone then Little. But we dont need a berry clone anymore. OLB is already crowded, especially with the possibility of Schofield waiting in the wings n the PUP list going into the season.

Pierce's problem is with his neck, not back, and short of surgery will not return.

Both have bulging discs, Pierce is higher up the spine then Hayes is but its the same injury.

A bulging disc in the neck (and that's where it is, according to Pierce) and one in the lower back, is not the same type of injury, Doctor. ;)

With treatment, Hayes can continue to play; Pierce can't pass a physical, and, again, according to the man himself, he requires a surgical procedure that he's not interested in going through.

It isn't official, yet... but, consider him retired.

Yes to Harvey Unga. He is a footballplayer, like him alot. I see some similarity with Gerhart and i liked everything about him.

As for our draft, i do have a pretty bad feeling about our two first picks. Not a bust feeling at all, but a "never elite" feeling about both of them.

I think Andre Roberts is going to be an amazing player and that Schofield is worth the risk so late in the draft.

Skelton has all the tools, but he lacks the NFL accuracy. I can't name many QB's that have fixed that problem and become very accurate later on. It's not like he is very inaccurate either. But it's defenitely not his strong side at all. Based on that i think that Hall might be the better player right now but Skelton has alot of potential.

That would be Josh Brent from Ill. the only baggage is he couldnt get his grads together. He got sent to Parkland CC and with his grades wasnt able to bet back on the Ill squad.

Two distinct (though related) variables:

1. How good the dude is (in the absolute)

2. How good is he with respect to what he can do to help the team.

A 3rd variable ("future upside") might go into Scouts Inc. thinking and have a bearing on Watson being rated higher than Robinson.

That kid has all of the potential but he had problems. Wasn't he arrested, as well?

Also, I saw that Alton has the most inland catch of a bull shark.

I am up in Charleston. Are you going to the Cards game in St. Louis?
