The Cardinals have 3 open spots on their roster.

Give me 3 guys the Cardinals should sign today, and reasons why are optional

1. Ryan Pickett - Our backup NT is going to be on the PUP list for most of the season, and the Cardinals have yet to bring in anyone to deal with this hole in the roster.

2. Eric Winston - I would love to pretend that Bradley Sowell is better than he really is, and that Bobby Massie is going to suddenly turn things around. But, the reality is that if Winston beat out both guys last season, then who is to say he would not do the same this season.

3. Will Witherspoon - Unit we know DWash will be available for the entire season then we need some kind of backup plan for the WILB position.

Manning and Williams are not free agents, and Lawrence Taylor was last seen driving around in this.

Well there is one undrafted unsigned CB from ASU who was a stellar DB last year. He had an injury during his pro day and couldn't do a full work out, and put up a bad 40 time. He is way faster than that. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=89632&draftyear=2014&genpos=CB. He provided exceptional coverage and I don't recall him getting beat deep at all his senior year.

Yes, I am talking about Osahon Irabor. The Cardinals should give him a shot.

I would go for veteran help at minimum wage for the O-line, secondary and linebacking group.

OL - Winston or J'Marcus Webb (OT) - Dahl or Colledge (OG)
DB - Quintin Mikell or Corey Webster
OLB - Witherspoon or James Anderson (starter due to injuries in CHI last year)

Rugby, agree with #1 and #2, Don't think we need another ILB, as most pundits predict only a one game suspension for DW. The preseason will give a better idea if Foote and Alexander can fill in. I have no doubt that Foote can, IF he's healthy.

Since Dwyer is our only big back, and I don't put Taylor in that class even though he did some short yardage work, last year, I think we need to add a 220+ lb. back. However, I feel that we could wait and snag a waiver wire pickup.

Rugby, thanks. I definitely missed out on him. However, since I expect us to go into the season with four RB's and three of them are set, imo, I still think we'll hit the WW. Or do you think that Hughes can play ST's and make the '53'?

I'd like to see Aaron Francisco come back just to see if he's learned how to cover ANYBODY at the NFL level. My second choice would be, with us needing possible LB help, my favorite Cardinal of all time, Stewart Bradley :D

Hughes can definitely play special teams.

Will he make the 53 ? I dunno.

The Cardinals brought in two UDFA, and this year I really didn't get to heavy into the draft so at about the 5th round, I have no idea.

To put it in perspective, we drafted Logan Thomas as a QB, and I have reading up on him, just to have an idea of what the Cardinals drafted.

And educated guess at the RB situation tells me the Cardinals liked the two UDFA running backs they picked up enough to cut Ryan Williams.

Thus one of those two UDFA running backs, and just looking at the measurables on paper, Tim Cornett stands out as a player that could do well in the NFL.

http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=106419&draftyear=2014&genpos=RB

Tim Cornett is 6 feet tall, about 210 lbs, and runs around a 4.4. I see him as the front runner on paper.

Yet, in response to your question, if the Cardinals are looking for a bigger back then Robert Hughes is on the roster as an option.

To be honest, in my personal opinion the Cardinals look at Stepfan Taylor as a "big back" Taylor is 5'9" and 216lbs.....so he is like a box or a square, LOL.

Take it for what it is worth, that we are talking about the 4th string running back position, but that will at a least make the preseason games a little more fun because the guys who are going to get the most carries will be fighting for a job, thus it should lead to some entertaining plays.
