At $16.39 mil.

That’s very high and something to consider when thinking about how the franchise will move forward with regards to cutting and trading players.

Pittsburgh just took a 21m dead money cap hit for AB.

But to your point...not good.

Perhaps that hasn’t been reflected, but Pittsburgh has an $18 mil tax credit from last season

Steelers trade of Brown I believe is bigger than our total team dead cap.

Its high, but as a percentage its only 8.7% of the cap. Another way to look at is we'd have about 1/3 more cap space t o spend (after of course our pre fa- free agents like Alford, etc)

Sucks, but not too bad.

It’s been this way for a while but we’re headed in the right direction . From everything I read we’re in great shape next year.

16 mil is the cap hit for a top-tier skill position player. While all teams have dead money on their cap, 16 mil is ridiculous.

Funny to think we used to have a guy whose primary responsibility was to manage the cap.

Looks like Glennon and Bethea account for $6 million (rollover of $6 million is a wash) and Bradford being another $5 million. Unless Gresham is cut, that number should be set, so I imagine a few other teams will pass them easily. We already know Pittsburg will once the AB trade is official.

BTW, Spotrac already has Gilbert on there, so this team has $36 million to spend after rookies or $45 million if they cut Humphries. On a side note, this team saves nothing by cutting Nkemdiche.

not ideal, but not that big a deal

it goes away next year -- so that is 2020 cap room Keim can work with in crafting contracts

Just another reason Keim should’ve been fired & replaced by the Cowpies Will McClay! He’s built them back up & a huge voice for much of their successful drafts which are so much better than Keims draft picks. He bombed at almost every level last season imo.

Unless Keim hits big in FA & this draft he will be looking for a job within 2 years. I think Michael made a huge mistake in not adding McClay to replace Keim Time.

Keim will likely be fired next season if we have another face-plant season.

The team overinvested in order to keep the window open. Unfortunately, the window closed due to injury (mainly Palmer).

Instead of bitting the bullet last year - eat up all the Dead money and field the worst team in the league Keim Tried to do fixes.

In retrospect, he peed in his pants to feel warm and is now feeling the cold.

I understand the decision, But given the result was the Worst team anyway, it was a bad decision

True but part of that is the consequence of Keim ******** the bed by not making an earnest investment in the next QB until the very last second. We had an aging, often injured QB was even in question if he would return for a following season and all Keim did was bring in camp arms. If you want Stanton as the perpetual QB2, fine. But everyone knew he would never be good enough to be QB1 and Keim brought in were QB3 caliber (or less) players to "develop"

Why would Dallas have let him go anyway?

Who are the Cards paying all this dead money to?

The big contract culprits are the previous contracts for quarterback Sam Bradford ($5 million in dead money), guard Mike Iupati ($3.7 million in dead money) and tackle Andre Smith ($1.2 million in dead money).

Oh Mr. Keim

Keim is doing a phenomenal job thus far this offseason and people are still bitching their heads off lol.
To be fair people aren’t bitching about the now, but are more concerned about the the trends.

I’ve always been a Keim supporter, but the last 2 seasons have made me along with others wonder how good he is.

1) Last season Keim BOMBED, his worst season by far. For whatever reason, almost every move he made was a total failure outside of maybe 3 drafts picks.

3) he continues to basically bust on Early round draft picks! As of TODAY who’s his best pick of those rounds? Kirk? Reddick? Budda? Notice a trend? I’ll give you a hint it starts with a 1. Most of these guys don’t even see a 2nd contract.

4) he can’t build an Oline! Name 1 guy Keim has drafted that isn’t anything more than average for whatever reason. Whether it’s FA or the draft it’s been a total failure during his tenure outside of possibly 1 season (3 years ago). Is it his scouts or Keims fault? Hmmm who knows, but it falls ultimately in SK.

5) imo Likes to gamble too often on small school kids in mid rounds.

6) signed the money badger to a long term deal coming off an ACL tear. Who does that?

7) signed an unproven & less than average TE in Gresham to a big $$$ deal.

Bottom line is I think if Keim was given a grade based on performance during his tenure it would be a C. You can’t continue to miss on rounds 1-3 & failing to build an Oline as often as SK has & have solid football programs consistently competing for Championships. That’s where your program is built!!!

I hope 2019 is a turning point & he learned hard lessons from last years miserable season & it all begins today.
