I read this yesterday and thought it was done already.

#5 Overall Pick Patrick Peterson Agrees to Terms

Flagstaff, AZ
The fifth overall pick of the 2011NFL Draft, Patrick Peterson from LSU, tweeted out this morning a deal may be imminent and that he be in Flagstaff when training camp opens for the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday

Sounds like a misinterpreted tweet.

Man I hate those :D

No one else is reporting this. Him, Williams and Housler are still unsigned

There is no negotiation. The contracts are slotted. A.J. Green got 19.6 million over 4 years. Peterson will get slightly less than that. He will get 18.5-19.
That is only slighgtly more than what he got at LSU.

The Cardinals opened talks with unsigned No. 5 overall pick Patrick Peterson Friday night.

Cardinals fans can breathe easy. Although the talks are late in getting going, there shouldn't be many stumbling blocks. Reliable beat writer Kent Somers wouldn't be surprised if an agreement is reached today.
