WR Kevin Kasper and some young fans

On Tuesday, October 28, defensive end Kenny King and mascot Big Red kicked off a day in the community by visiting Hohokam Elementary School in Scottsdale for SRP’s Milk and Cookies reading program.

King, who typically likes to spend most of his off-day sleeping, made sure to arrive at the school early to read through some of the kids’ books in advance.

“Well, I’ve never done this before so I want to practice and make sure I get the words right before the kids get in here,” said the defensive lineman.

King and Big Red warmed the students up with some stretching exercises before King got down to business and talked about the importance of reading.

After King read to the students, he stuck around to sign autographs, answer questions, and share in an afternoon snack of milk and cookies.

Later in the evening, wide receiver Kevin Kasper teamed up with Big Red to host a Gallagher and Kennedy Kids’ Camp for 40-60 children at the Cardinals Training Facility. Kasper and Big Red joined adult volunteers in coaching the students through non-contact football drills.

All participants in the camp received a Cardinals floppy hat and an autographed picture of Kasper.
