How can anyone in their right mind say something is wrong with Minter as a draft pick, really. He is a rookie that had Washington and freaking Dansby in front of him playing lights out on a pro bowl level. It is not like one has to stink it up to have two players of such a high caliber in front of you. Minter was a good pick... Washington and Dansby are great players :)

Minter played exactly one defensive snap last season, and was injured constantly playing just special teams.

I'm fine that he didn't come in and play like his hair was on fire, but we burned a pretty high second-round pick on him, and got essentially nothing but a handful of "ooh" hits on special teams in his first season.

If he's not in the starting lineup in 2014, or at least playing 20-30% of defensive snaps, it's going to start to seem like he's a bust.

D'Qwell Jackson is a thumper.

Good player, but not a Karlos Dansby type player.

If the Cardinals cannot resign Dansby, I'd rather the team go with Minter and Brinkley instead of Jackson.

Agree. If LOS goes bye bye, Minter & Jackson fight it out for the job.

I don't get that one unless they are just trying to use leverage against Dansby. Even then, they're really not the same type of LB.

Maybe LOS has an agreement reached & we don't know about it yet ;) Hmmm sounds like it to me.

My point is that I want him on the field at his position playing a consistent number of snaps before I will say he was a bust. I'm a HUGE fan of Dansby and want him back but I will not even remotely suggest anything less of Minter till he has played

Yeah, but if he goes the way of Cody Brown this offseason, are you going to make that same statement?

I really don't have much of a problem with Minter not being able to supplant Washington or Dansby.

After Washington came back, Brinkley was on the field for 27 snaps, and Minter was on the field for one. Minter couldn't take snaps away from a guy who was released before he'd collected 52 weeks' worth of paychecks.

I guess my point is that there are things that people on Hardy Drive know that we don't. One of those things is how Minter's developing in practice. The evidence suggests that Minter is either not developing quickly enough or not at all.

MJ said he heard that the Cardinals offered Dansby the 2nd highest contract ever offered for ILBers in their 30s, slightly behind London Fletcher's past contract, which was 2 years @ 10.5M...which included $3.5M guaranteed in a signing bonus.

The offer is probably close to $9.5-10M for 2 years with $3-3.5M guaranteed.

Anyone think Dansby is going to get more than that elsewhere?

That offer the Cards gave is very generous in my opinion. I love Dansby

but if he wants a penny more he is gone. ( see Patriots)

No.

And consider that Novorro Bowman is making $4.75m in 2014 and Willis is at $5.7m for the upcoming season.
