If this is true I doubt they have any intentions of keeping Hoosh. I hope they dont anyhow just because I am scared of us getting stuck w/ him. The guy is a 1st class, Grade A whiny, little ******** diva. What happened, I thought possesion receivers were supposed to be tough, hard-nosed offensive LBs?? Field stretchers and yac guys are the only ones who are allowed to be divas. Nobody wants a slow drama queen.

Seattle would be CRAZY to trade within the Division.

Why, they would get Leinart, who they want and they probably know that we wouldn't keep TJ anyhow. Even if we did, how would it change anything? We're gonna beat that ass regardless.

The interest in Housh is a signal that Whiz is trying to load up the slot with playmakers because he is realizing how well the Cardinals are going to occupy the deep safeties with Williams on one side and Fitz on another.

It may be hard to snag Housh...but the guy I bet Whiz would love to get his hands on is TE Greg Olsson of the Bears who has not been a central target in Mike Martz's system thus far.

Thus the focus here is on exploiting the middle of the defenses when the safeties are going to have to play over the top.

Hey look at it this way...the more the Cardinals can have Patrick Willis worry about the pass, the better.

If we get TJ there is a chance we might throw more this year than previous years...which is crazy when you think about it. But Whiz might have liked how we looked in the Green Bay game as an example. GB was ranked 3rd in the league in Def and we tore threw it. Our defense might be better this year with more speed at Linebacker and Rhodes playing smarter safety.

Our run game seems to work much better when teams are scared of our pass first mentality.

But if we can get TJ in a heads up trade for Leinart and then we cut Roberts who hasn't done anything. I love our receiveing corp.

Also imagine Fitz, Breaston, TJ and Williams on the field at the same time. Wow a top tier wr is going to have weak coverage somewhere.

.... because I believe that he has been a bit duplicitous on the QB situation. But, don't want to open up that debate. It's done, and we'll see the denouement come Saturday with final cuts.

I believe that he has been open and straightforward on the QB situation. But, don't want to open that debate so like the Crazy Canuck, I won't say anything either.;)

You can never have enough talented players if they can add him, that'd be great. But it won't be in a trade for ML. Better still wait to see if they cut him. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

You can have the 10 best receivers in the league...if you cant get the ball to them, doesn't do you a bit of good!

I still think it's a bit of a pipedream to think the Cards will add TJ to the roster.

Maybe Whiz wants to get as many sure-handed guys out there to catch the balls after Anderson bounces them off of defenders' chests?

That language is only for if he is cut. If he is traded the whole thing goes to the new team and Seattle is not on the hook.

First of all we don't even now if the rumor is true. It comes from some beat writer in Cincy and he might be being used by the agent to drum up some interest.

Second we could have called only as a feeler. We could have just simply asked for permission to talk to his agent to see if he was willing to restructure his horrid contract - 2010: $7 million, 2011: $8 million, 2012: $8.5 million, 2013: $9 million. At the age of 32 not a chance in hell we are trading for that, 100% certain of that. If we wanted to pay that much money on a #2 WR we would have just paid the younger Boldin that much money.

Third, we could have just been calling to see if he could be a piece in a 3 team swap.

I think I'll embarrass myself by being wrong:

The Housh trade rumors sound like media-speculation to me. Someone made the connection between Pete Carroll and Leinart and figured: "Uhh, yeah. OK. Leinart to the Seahawks. Might as well unload Housh to the Cardinals in return. Makes sense."

Only thing is -

1. The trade would be within our own division.

2. The Cards are overloaded with receivers (including Steven Williams who is similar physically to Houshmanzadeh).

Ain't gonna happen.

My thoughts exactly Jeff, makes zero sense to me. Aren't we going to try & run the football a little more this season? This teams has holes & needs but WR is the least of their concerns!!!

Especially since the one other thing you can count on the media remembering is that we lost Anquan Boldin. I can definitely see some out of town expert coming to this speculative conclusion. But I agree, it's not going to happen - unless we have another deal already crafted.

Somers finally ends the dumb speculation -

"Cardinals had no interest in trading for Seattle's T.J. Houshmanzadeh, according to person familiar with the non-situation."

This is my thought. If the Seahawks are looking for a QB(Leinart) and we can find a team desparate for a WR then maybe we can pick up a veteran CB or OLB.

surplus? hardly. green bay has a surplus. us? not so much. i mean max komar? doucet has been glass and breaston has never been a 2.
All true, but I'd be willing to bet Breaston would be a #1 on a team like the Bears. Also, I thought this team wouldn't need WR depth like we have had in the past since this team will rely quite a bit more on the run. If not, it does make some sense I guess.

Wow, wanna talk about taking preseason way too seriously? Stephen Williams is now a top tier receiver? The kid looks good but come on. Let him have a catch that counts before we anoint him the next hall of fame receiver.
