Anquan Boldin to Philadelphia for their #21 pick, a flip-flopping of 2nd and 3rd round picks (#63 & #95, for #53 & #85), and two of Phildelphia's 5th round picks (#133 & #145).

1A (#21): Tyson Jackson, 34DE, LSU. Starter at RDE, with Calais Campbell and Kenny Iwebma rotating in for Dockett and Jackson. Jackson is a monster versus the run, and he collapses pockets versus the pass.

1B (#31): LeSean McCoy, RB, Pittsburgh. When all is said and done, McCoy's explosiveness reminds Whiz of "Fast Willie" Parker.

2 (#53): Paul Kruger, 34OLB, Utah. The heir apparent for Okeafor at SOLB, this guy is a relentless edge rusher, fluid athlete and, most importantly, a sure, fundamental tackler.

3 (#85): Lawrence Sidbury, 34OLB, Richmond. Weakside edge rusher who plays fast and explosively. Needs to add some strength. Hello John Lott.

4 (#127): Sherrod Martin, CB/FS, Troy. Has the range and recovery speed the Cardinals need in their deep coverage.

5A (#133): A.Q. Shipley, C, Penn. St. Tenacious player who is being overlooked by strong center class.

5B (#145): Louis Vasquez, G, Texas Tech. John Lott witnessed Vasquez leadf the combine in bench presses at 39. And the thing is he already is a good pass blocker having played in the Texas Tech spread.

5C (#159): Ellis Lankster, CB, West Virginia. This JUCO transfer and one year starter at West Virginia had a good enough season to be invited to the Senior Bowl, where he made a nice pick and one eye-popping tackle.

6 (#191): Brennan Marion, WR, Tulsa. In two years at Tulsa this kid was truly amazing, putting up huge numbers and averages per catch in the high 20s. He suffered an ACL injury in the last game of the season and was still not able to run at the combine. He's a 6-0, 190 pound home run threat who has an uncanny knack for scoring TDs.

7A (#223): Brian Johnson, QB, Utah. All this guy does is win and manage games to near perfection at times (13-0 in 2008). He lacks prototypical size and elite arm strength, but he's accurate and poised.

7B (TBD): Connedge Collins, FB, Pittsburgh. McCoy's FB is one of the real sleepers in this draft. Not only is Collins a quick, powerful blocker, he's a running threat who averaged 4.4 ypc last season.

I still think you're selling short what we could get from Philly. I honestly believe we could get a 1st AND a 2nd for Quan. Maybe more if we could start a bidding war with the Giants and a few other interested teams....heck try to get the entire NFC East involved!

Mitch, I really like your idea of moving up in both rounds two and three by swapping picks with the Eagles. IMO draft position is worth as much as extra picks. I don't think that Krueger or Sidbury would be there when we pick at the end of round two or three but by moving up to the Eagles picks, well they could be there.

Tory Holt is out there now... He should end up with the Giants or Philly, reducing our leverage with those teams...

I don't think so. This is from a sportswriter in St Louis on Holt being released:

Holt is no longer one of the top few wide receivers in the game, as he had been for so many years. Last year he caught 64 passes for 796 yards. That made him about the 35th-best receiver in the league.

He seldom showed his old route-running burst. He runs on balky knees these days, a deterioration that requires weekly management.

Boldin is in his prime. One of the best wrs, a pro bowl starter this past year. There is no comparison with Holt.

I'm pretty sure that Q will not be traded. However, with potential new FA, Wright from NE, re-signing with the Pats, we do have a need for a DT. And since the team having announced that we are "probably" finished in FA, it looks like we'll have to draft one. And if Elton Brown doesn't return, then we'll also have to draft an OG. Or at least a center who can also play guard.

So, if the Cards won't pony up for Q, why do we think they will pay 2 1st rounders? I just don't see that happening.

Jimminy cricket, Mitch. Philly is not going to trade any first round pick for anybody. They just don't do that. Their owner is not Jackass Jones.

That would be a great draft if it went down that way......

They might not have a choice Skkorp. With Dawkins leaving, a hole at WR, tons of cap space, Mcnabb complaining, and a rabid fan base going INSANE right now I think they would end up doing a 1st and a 3rd. Nothing more, nothing less.

Keep in mind they were about ten minutes from the Super Bowl. I think they feel they are a dependable playmaker at WR from taking it over the top. And I don't see them relying on a first round WR. That late in the round they guys are hit or miss and most take a couple years to develop.

Boldin in terms of leadership (void with dawkins) skill set (catcing slants in the WC offense) age and size, and how he complements the speed of Jackson is a PERFECT fit for them.

They are one of the more proactive teams in the league when it somes to getting better and it should not be seen as a coincidence that a year after they went to the NFC championship they are staying awfully quiet. They also traded a WR to the Pats too.

I too think Mitch didn't get enough for Q (or at least what I think the Cardinals would have to get to make the move - keep in mind it will be a PR hit and they will HAVE to get a good deal) in this mock but I am to the point where it just makes too much sense not to get done.

I don't think the Cardinals being unwilling to pay money is at the root of the issue.

Its dumping cap space into two WR's and Q wanting to get to Larry's tax bracket and be a true go to guy. On both counts it would be more then just a little short sighted on the Cardinals part to pony up what Q wants IMO.

Thats where the issues lie and unlike others just another reason I am pessimistic about a resolution.

I guess I am in the minority but I would do backflips if we received that much for Q. We could really do some damage with a draft like Mitch is proposing.

The last 2/3rd of the 1st round do not make a lot of money. In fact outside of the top 10 they are down right cheap.

DRC at the 16 pick is only getting paid 2.5 mill per year. We could have 3 1st rounders outside of the top 10 and it still wouldnt equal to what Boldin would want at about 8 mill per.

3 1st rounder outside of the top 10 pay scale < Boldins asking price.

I like it. I really like the Kruger , Sidbury and Shipley, Vasquez picks where they are landed.

I like the idea of Tyson Jackson, but I doubt he'll be there. What about Hood in that spot? Or Moreno there and Hood at 31! :)

Martin would also be a bargain there in the 4th.

Boldin is worth every penny. But not to a team that is already forking out big money to a WR. That is why I dont see Boldin getting an extension with us.

Whiz wants a more balanced team. That does not mean 2 HUGE contracts at WR. Just my thoughts.

Having Q does not prevent Whis from having a more balanced offence. The playoffs gave ample evidence of that.

Also heard some rumors around the net for the Jets trading there #1 (17) to Denver for Cutler. They also said that a 3 team would be needed to be added. That was the Cardinals trading Leinart to Denver for Leon Washington RB/KR/PT and there 2nd rounder.

Just a rumor but that is interesting to say at least.

So the Jets would be giving us Washington and a 2nd? Interesting.

What is Washington's contract, anyone know?

No Denver is giving us Leon Washington. He is a RB/KR/PR and is really fast.
Would be a very good 3rd down back for us. Has speed plus.

You can't roll the dice in the draft (especially that far down) in trade for a guy like Anquan.

You need a starter in return (Giants are the only one of the two who has what we need).

He is a Jet now.

I really like the mock draft, well thought out picks all across the board and we would be much better coming out with that draft.

I can see Philly giving up a 1st as well, Mcnabb is not resigning until he sees what they add around him. They need to get him a playmaker or they are going to lose him, and that is going to force them to overpay.
