Two thoughts:
1. Some one will fall through the cracks and be there at Pick #29.
2. In the 'old days' I had my favorite guy that I wanted the Cards to draft and then held my breath as our pick got closer. And then he'd be selected right in front of us, or I'd get lucky and he'd be there when it was the Cardinals' turn, only to see them go in a different direction. Ryan Kelly fits that description.

DL and LB and CB are all needs but they are luxury picks at this point.
We are in deep doodoo at center right now. We let our starter go, didn't replace him in free agency, we have only AQ Shipley on the roster who was badly outmanned when in service last year, and that's it.

Literally the best we can do is to pray for the miracle of having to start a rookie at center next year (blech), and then get the one and only immediate-starter worthy center to somehow fall to #29.

This could be a problem if it doesn't work out.

there will be plenty of vet cuts yet this off season.

I'm growing more nervous about pick #29 the closer we get to the clock. I have a feeling ARZ is going to pull a surprise pick again and it may go against what us fans believe we need. It could be because the guy they want is off board or because they feel potential outweighs the risk.

lets not go all keim time in this draft...
would kinda like to see us draft a guy in the first round who will actually be on the field this season

I want FA acquisition Keim working this draft, not the "draft players for the bench" Keim.

Can't make everyone happy I guess.

Cooper was injured or he would have started.

Bucannon has played pretty much full time since being drafted.

Humphries was the pick for the future while being injury insurance.

This team has so much talent and depth that it will be hard for any rookie to get significant playing time except for the C and CB position. So yeah, let's take shots at the GM who built this roster.

But even keim said he has to do a better job selecting early picks

Of course he did because everyone on this team holds themselves accountable and good or great aren't enough. The goal and expectation is excellence which is how this entire organization is operating.

It's why BA gets on CC even though he is getting voted into the Pro Bowl as one example.

Could we really do worse than Clyde Duncan, Steve Pisarkiwiez, Kelly Stouffer, Steve Little or Wendell Bryant? Lol :D

Now those were the really baaaaaaaaaaad times. Kids today think the trade down and not selecting Suggs and ending up with Pace and Skillet hands were hard times. Merely a flesh wound. :D

Mitch- The draft needs to get here soon. It's going to kill you. That was one of your all time best rants over speculation about nothing. :p How you get Kiem "seeming intent on drafting TJ"? Don't let the predraft nonsense bother you, man. Let's see what actually happens.

I sure hope you are correct, Maverick!

But when Somers, Urban and even Tony Jefferson are all touting T.J. Green to the Cardinals at #29, it's pretty hard to ignore. I even heard BA say about Green something to the effect of, "you just bring him up in press coverage and lock him on and bam he'll be fine." BA sounded like it was that simple. Well, it ain't that simple at all. Press coverage requires outstanding technique---heck Patrick Peterson hasn't mastered the technique of it quite yet.
