The vegas odds have been increased to 17% that the cardinals land manning with the dolphins running 2nd at 14%. The betting started on the cards where a $100 bet would net you $2500 but that has shrunk to only $250 for every $100 bet.

I know to some of you this means nothing but I would much rather go on vegas odds than "nfl insider" information since the books actually have something at stake and aren't throwing crap against a wall hoping it sticks.

Think Peyton or one of his friends or family members would put action on this?

Shane is up there putting all his money on the Cards. Has been since the wagering started. That's why we're now the favorite. Then he comes on here to say it will NEVER happen - all but guaranteeing that it will. :D

if i was in vegas ida bet long ago.
agreed. Even if it was just a hail mary bet, I'd have put $50 on it just to do it. And if it paid out, I'd be happy that my team got better and that I won a bunch of money

That's why you educate yourself and learn from pros so you go from sucker to sharp. You lose your fair share on the road to get there but once you arrive nothing feels better than betting a game and not even having to worry while watching it.

Good stuff. There must be rules on sports betting to limit this type of thing from getting out of hand. I can only imagine what could happen in this day of twitter.

Haha I wish, even the best cappers only hit around 65% of the time...I do well enough to keep it up as a regular hobby and make a little profit. Its more about the fun of capping a game which if I could I would do it full time.

I live in Vegas, and really wanted to put something down, but I didn't have the disposable cash back when the odds were as good as they are. My good friend made one though.

Vegas does adjust the odds depending on how many people are betting one way though, so it may be that people just found the possibility of the Cardinals doing it that much more enticing for that much money.

I wonder if there's a cause/effect (either direction) relationship between the Vegas story and the Jay Glazer "Cards front runners to land Manning" buzz?

just wait until Vegas says the chance is 70%.....then you will know that a very reliable psychic has told them Manning only has three games left in his career.........

fwiw:

sports talk host from Indy / Colts flagship station was just on ESPN talking about Peyton

asked if playing indoors would be an issue. Host says yes -- AZ would be attractive, not just for being indoors, but also a passing offense and a coaching staff that tailored their offense to Warner. So - when Peyton hears from teams that they will tailor their offense to him, one team has a coaching staff that has a proven history of doing it.

Hmmm coincidence the release story happens hours after...me thinks not

If you have any idea how odds are posted you would know it is a coincidence. They were set a few weeks back and have adjusted based on where the money is going. nothing more or less. Justa bunch of dumb betters out there :)

True, to a point. However, there is a basis for their odds. It's not like they are going to put NE at 100-1 to win the Super Bowl and adjust it as the money goes.

This must have been the plan when we dumped Matty for nothing? Manning would break his neck to play in Arizona!

Kind of like Matty breaking his shoulder playing in Houston?

Miami and Arizona are the two top favorites considering from Peyton's side (speculation by media folks, obviously Peyton has not said anything in public about his preference). His relationship with Whiz and Fitz. Whiz having had success with a late 30's QB before in integrating him into his offense and a defense that is ready to win now!
