Thanks for doing this, I was wondering how all our UFA's graded out. I'm not surprised to see Minter and Shipley rated has highly as they are. I do question how Jeremy Ross is rated higher that Jaron Brown and I disagree with Ruckers score.

Man oh man that's a ton of Cards about to enter FA.

Bingo. I also think they will try hard to keep Jefferson this year. I think they realized how bad the communication on the D was in the first part of the season when they let Johnson and Powers walk. I don't think they will want to go through that again and they would if they let Jefferson walk.
Something tells me Tony won't be back or he would already be locked up.

He's repeatedly went on Twitter rants for over a year now not feeling appreciated with a new contract despite his pretty darn good play. He was at it again today. I think he's looking for a pretty big pay day & I don't think Big Red is willing to do that.

He was unhappy with cards contract, but no one team made any offer to him after he got 1 year contract as RFA

From who ?

Swearinger came in as a practice squad player. If someone wants to pay more than $4million a year for Swearinger then let him walk, and bring in another safety.

Same goes for Jefferson in my book, if he is look for the 6.5mil+ per season that the rumors say, then good luck to him.

There are a few comparable safeties that will be available in free agency, so neither are critical, IMHO.

I thought Swearinger was a former 2nd round pick that was cut because he played undisciplined and out of control at times. Guess I was way wrong.

True but he was also a RFA (they hardly ever leave their team) now he's had back to back good years in Red, which is probably gonna get him a good contract & out of AZ. I think he's a helluva player, but I don't think Keim will meet what he's looking for.

I would prefer Trumaine J over Prince A. Do you think that Cooper could play FS since he sucks at press coverage?

Wouldn't Morris Claiborne be just as good & much cheaper?

Hey, the Cards might have discovered in a gem in Harlan Miller by mistake at FS because of injuries. Hmmmmm

Loved him before the draft as a playmaker at CB...so who knows?

He was a 2nd rd pick of the Texans. He did get a rep for dirty hits and maybe that's why he was cut. Bucs also cut him so he was probably still PS eligible and BASK took a chance on him.

Swearinger entered the league as a second round pick. He was undisciplined but came into his own with us. I keep him over Jefferson in a heartbeat. Swearinger has a much higher ceiling.

the Cardinals have 4 players in the top 20, more than any other team.

Man, their ratings for TE Jermaine Gresham, CB Marcus Cooper and G Earl Watford are very low. Gresham is rated like the #10 TE.

Rashad Johnson is a FA, so could ARZ bring him back after realizing they miss his leadership?

No. He will be available for a reason. I agree with the "Swearinger is more likely to be re-signed than Jefferson" camp.

I don't see it with Minter. I question anyone who thinks he is anything more than replaceable.

I want Calais back. It won't be the end of the world if he isn't.

I would take DJ over Jefferson for a few reasons even though i like Jefferson as well.

1. I think Jefferson has reached his FULL potential i think DJ will get better.
2. DJ is the more versatile player he can play both safety positions.
3. DJ hard hitting brings a physical and intimidating angle to the secondary.

I don't know what went in to their rankings but I have a hard time putting any legitimacy in any rankings that have AQ Shipley rated higher than Alshon Jeffery.

I wonder what Swearinger is like in the locker room? I remember he was a little edgy in the Texans Hard Knocks and then I was down in the players area after a couple games and he had a crew with him that looked like a vintage Pacman Jones entourage. He was rockin a style that just looked way more over the top than anyone else on the team by a factor of 10X. He looked good. His backpack alone must have been $20K. Now this could mean absolutely nothing and I loved the way the guy played - he is a bada$$. He might be a choir boy so this is no indictment on the guys character just an observation of how different he appeared than the rest of the team. This could play into how the team see's him as a locker room fit but I was actually wondering more about how comfortable he is. I think as locker rooms go, ours seems fairly clean cut. This guy has some self proclaimed jungleboi swag and may be drawn to a different team/city. https://twitter.com/jungleboi_swagg

Free agency figures to be a function of a series of mini-domino effects, where the signing or loss of one player should influence our willingness or reluctance to sign another player.

Sign Swearinger first and our chances of signing Jefferson go down (or vice versa). Ditto other positions.

This will make scoping out FA keepers difficult if not impossible (because priorities will change each time a move is made).

In general, I like our roster. if it's a matter of keeping a guy or letting him walk, I hope BASK will err in favor of keeping guys rather than losing them.
